April 8-12

I hope everyone had a great Spring Break and got some rest, because we are going to be moving pretty quickly for the next several weeks.  We have our field trip, test prep, and play practice to fit into our crazy schedule! It is so important to have all students present, unless they are sick.  Also, please do not check them out early unless it’s very necessary.  We will be practicing our play the last hour of each day until the actual performance.  I appreciate your support with this!!

Thank you to all those that helped with our Multiplication Madness Celebration.  We appreciate all those that donated their time and food. We couldn’t do these fun things without your help!!!

Poetry
It’s been so fun memorizing and reciting poems, that we will continue this for April and May.  New poems went home last week.  I am asking that each student memorize and recite at least one poem by May 1st. This is a great opportunity to work on fluency, phrasing, and performing skills. Here is the link in case you need another copy.

Math in Class
We will be learning about mass and how to measure objects by grams and kilograms.  Please watch for the family letter to come home.

Homework
MATH: Make sure that your child is doing Reflex for math and getting the green light AT LEAST 3 times during the week.  If students do not complete Reflex at home they will complete it during recess time.
READING: Please read 20 minutes every night and keep track of your minutes on our reading log. ******* I would love it if you would have your child read out loud to you for at least 5 of those minutes!*****
