Final Field Trip – This Friday, SOLOMON CENTER!

Our last field trip of the year will be a celebration!

On Friday, May 19th we will be riding the Frontrunner Train from the Roy station to Ogden then walking to the Salomon Center for a day of fun activities. First, we will be bowling at Fat Cats where we will also eat our home/sack lunches. Next, we will split into three groups that will rotate through rock wall climbing at the iRock, surfing at the Flowrider, and a demonstration at the iFly. We will then walk back to the Ogden Station where we will take the Frontrunner back to the Roy Station.

Our class has 5 chaperones.  They will be assigned students for the day.  They must ride the train with the fifth grade, and can not bring along any siblings. We also ask that chaperones not buy anything for their group, unless it is their own child.

Students need to bring a lunch, or purchase a school sack lunch, and a modest swimsuit and towel, if the swim suit is not modest a t-shirt must be worn over the top of the swimsuit. We ask that students wear their red or blue uniform top with khaki uniform bottoms and comfortable walking shoes.

Here is the agenda for the day:

8:20-8:40: Students arrive at Roy Frontrunner Station

8:45: Take the Frontrunner Train to Ogden Station

8:52: Arrive at Ogden Station

8:52-10:00: Walk to the Salomon Center and complete Scavenger Hunt

11:45-12:30: Rotation #1 (iFly, Flowrider, or iRock)

12:30-1:15:Rotation #2

2:20-3:00: Walk to Ogden Station

3:07: Board Frontrunner Bound for Roy Station

Mission To Mars

Just a reminder that on Tuesday, Apeil 25th we are blasting off for Mars, via Weber State University. We will leave Quest Academy at about 9:00 and return at approximately 2:15. Kids are required to wear a red uniform shirt and khaki uniform bottoms, skirts are discouraged due to the activities we will be doing. They also need to wear clean socks, as we will have our shoes off, and bring a sack lunch. If your child will need a school lunch for Friday please let me know by Monday. Remember, absolutely no electronic devices. Not only will this be a fun experience, it is also a competition between Quest and other schools in the area. We are being judged on our saga, life support system, habitat building, mission patch, behavior and uniform.  If students are unable to control their behavior, they will be removed from the activity and required to complete an essay about the Mission to Mars project.  If your student is removed, you will receive a phone call regarding their behavior.  We are so excited for this opportunity to represent Quest Academy!
