Parent Teacher Conferences

Click on the link to sign up for a parent teacher conference appointment. They will be held on October 25th and 26th in our classroom. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your student’s progress and goals. We have short days these two days.

Week of October 2nd

We are in October and I am losing my mind! The time has gone by so quickly. We have some big things coming up this month, so please make sure that you check the blog often.

Parent teacher conferences are quickly approaching. They are Wednesday, October 25th and Tuesday the 26th. I am excited to meet with you to talk about your student’s growth and goals. I will be sending out the sign up form for that soon!

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • October 11th-13th – Fall Break-NO SCHOOL
  • October 25th-26 – Parent Teacher Conferences – Early Out @ 1:10
  • Tuesday, Oct 31 – Halloween – Early Out @ 1:10
  • Wednesday, Nov 1st – Teacher Work Day – NO SCHOOL

MATH: We will start lesson 6 which is multiplying by 3, 4, & 6. Below is the family letter explaining how I teach this lesson and it includes an activity that helps with this skill. If you would like to give your child extra practice with multiplication, this activity would be an excellent option to use.

ELA: This week we will be working on Unit 2 Week 1 in our Wonders program. Below is an outline of what we are learning in class.

Week of September 25th

MATH: We will start lesson 5 which really kicks off our multiplication unit. We will be learning how to multiply by 0s, 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s. Below is the family letter explaining how I teach this lesson and it includes an activity that helps with this skill. If you would like to give your child extra practice with multiplication, this activity would be an excellent option to use.

ELA: This week we are taking the Unit 1 Assessment as a class. Please make sure your student is in class each day to take the assessment with us! Since this is our first unit test of the year we will take it together and use it as a chance to learn some test taking strategies as well as review all we have learned so far.

Week of September 18th

COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER:

Our annual fundraiser starts tomorrow! Your child will be sent home with their fundraising packet. You should also be getting more information from the school. The school offers incentives for selling cookie dough and jerky. If you would like to watch the video administration put together you may access it here. link

MATH: We will start this week finishing up our Subtraction lesson from last week. Then we will move onto lesson 4 this week which is understand the meaning of multiplication. Below is the family letter explaining how I teach this lesson and it includes an activity that helps with understanding the meaning of multiplication. If you would like to give your child extra practice with multiplication, this activity would be an excellent option to use.

Hello Grown Ups! We are now in full swing and I am loving it!! Your kiddos have been amazing at making new friends, learning to be problem solvers, following classroom routines, and winning a special place in my heart. This is a stellar group of students and I am so excited that I get to teach and learn with them.

Week of August 21st

We had an amazing first three days of school. Your children already have a special place in my heart and I am so excited for the school year. To help you keep on top of what we are doing in class, I will be posting what we will do every week. Here you will find what we are working on in Math, ELA, and other going ons in our class. I will also post important dates that you will need to remember.

If you haven’t yet please fill out the food permission form, sign the class disclosure agreement, fill out the parent survey, and pay the $30.00 class donation to the office. If you could make sure all those things are done that would be great. 🙂

MATH: We will be starting our math unit this week. We will be reviewing 2nd grade material and that will give me an idea of what your child knows before we jump into 3rd grade standards. We will also be taking our I-Ready math diagnostics over the course of the week.
