I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!  As I have thought about the things I am thankful for, my amazing students were always at the top of my thankful list.  Thank you for the amazing school year so far. Week of November 14th

One week until Thanksgiving Break, but who’s counting! 🙂 We have a week that is cram packed full of learning, so please make sure that your child is here everyday. Below is what we will be working on this week and important dates.

Week of November 7th

Week of October 31st

Our Halloween party and parade is on Monday!! YAY! We have some great parents coming in to help and we can’t wait. The school parade will be at 9:00. Please remember that there should be no weapons, blood or gore. This is also an early out day.

This week is also Positive Me Week. Here is the list of dress up fun for Positive Me Week:

  • Monday- Halloween
    • Scare drugs away. Wear your Halloween costume!
  • Tuesday- Twin Day
    • Dress like someone who doesn’t do drugs!  Twin with a friend, teacher, celebrity, etc.
  • Wednesday- Wacky Hair Wednesday
    • Drugs are WACKY, don’t do them!
  • Thursday- Throwback Thursday
    • Decades Dress. Drugs are so in the PAST!
  • Friday- Flannel Friday
    • Don’t fall for drugs!

Week of October 24th

We had an amazing field trip to the Curiosity Museum. Thank you to all of our grown ups that came to chaperone. We cannot do field trips without you, so a HUGE THANK YOU!!!

Multiplication Tricks

We have been practicing songs to learn multiples. This is one way we are learning our multiplication facts. Some students and families have asked for these so they can practice at home. Week of October 17th

I hope everyone had an amazing fall break. The weather has been beautiful, so I hope you got out and enjoyed it. I know that I did!!

Two big things are happening this week. First, on Tuesday is the Cookie Dough and Jerky pick up day. Make sure your get your orders!! Then on Wednesday we have our first field trip. WAHOO!!! We will be meeting at the Roy Front Runner station that day and you will be picking your child up from there as well. Please remember that we will be back early and that you will need to pick up your child @ 2:45.

HELP NEEDED!!! – We are looking for a few brave souls who can help us with our Halloween Party. I already have two parents who have said that can help out, but I need 3 more. Please contact me and let know if you can help. Our party time will be from 10:00ish-11:20.

Tutoring – Our tutoring days are getting an update. Tutoring will now be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays, both sessions will be after school until 3:50. Just a reminder, tutoring is invitation only. I will continue sending out emails if your student is invited to tutoring. Please fill out the form attached to those emails so I know who to keep after school.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Week of October 3rd

We are in October and I am losing my mind! The time has gone by so quickly. We have some big things coming up this month, so please make sure that you check the blog often.

We are creating apple witches this October. A huge thank you to the parents that came out and helped us carve the faces! We will be dressing our witches later in the month. On Monday, I will be sending home a pattern for the apple witch dress. It is a pretty basic dress, but it does require a little sewing, or glueing. Either works fine. I am looking for a few parent volunteers that could help us sew dresses, if needed. Please contact me if you can help sew.

Our first field trip is coming up!! We will be taking the Frontrunner to the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Permission forms, parent volunteer opportunities, and more information will be posted on Monday. So please check back!!

Halloween – This year Halloween is on a Monday. We will be having a class party and I am looking for some amazing parents to help us run this day. I will be emailing out a Google Form asking for volunteers. I am so excited for this day!!!!

Week of September 26th

TUTORING:

We have tutoring each week for additional help in math on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays tutoring will be before school starting at 8:00am and Thursdays tutoring will be after school until 3:50pm. Tutoring is INVITATION ONLY based on individual student need. If your student needs to attend tutoring you should have received an email from me. Please fill out the google form attached to the email so I make sure your student gets where they need to be.

Week of September 19th

COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER:

The school offers incentives for selling cookie dough and jerky, however I am offering an additional incentive. The top seller in our class will receive a large 3D printed jellyfish. Also, if we win most sold in the school each student will be able to choose something small they want 3D printed(within reason) and I will get it printed for them.

MATH: We will start lesson 4 this week which is understand the meaning of multiplication. Below is the family letter explaining how I teach this lesson and it includes an activity that helps with understanding the meaning of multiplication. If you would like to give your child extra practice with multiplication, this activity would be an excellent option to use.
