Back to School Night is on Monday, Aug. 14th. Classroom presentations begin at 6:00pm and will be held every half hour until 8:00pm.
Please come to whichever presentation works for you. I will be shutting the door during each session. If the door is shut when you arrive I encourage you to wait for the next session. However, you are still welcome to come in and join the session if you are unable to wait. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and working with you throughout this school year!
I am so excited to meet all the students in my class this year! We’re going to have a great time together and learn a lot of fun things. I have many wonderful memories of when I was in third grade and I am excited to create more with you this school year! I will see you at Back to School Night on August 14th, and then on the First Day of School, August 16th! The first three days are are short days with early dismissal.

Food Permission Form: This is a blanket food permission form for the entire school year. The food items on this list are ones we have used regularly in the past for class parties and for math, science, and ELA lessons. Please check all items that your child can have. Supply List: I am asking for money donations in the amount of $30.00 instead of you buying your child’s supplies. This means I do all the shopping, labeling and organizing. Awesome, right? One less thing you have to worry about! However, this does not cover student headphones. Please send those with your child on the first day of school. One way that you can help your child over the summer is to READ!!! It is so important to have your child read every day for 20 minutes.
Thank you for a wonderful year! It has been an absolute joy to be your student’s teacher. We have learned a lot together and grown so much this school year. Each one of my students holds a special place in my heart. The 4th grade teachers don’t know how lucky they are to be getting this group of kids. Have a wonderful summer, see you in August!
Oh my goodness! This school year has flown by so quickly and I am left wondering where the time has gone. We are entering our last week of school and there is so much going on! Please make sure that your child brings a backpack everyday to school. I am going to start sending home items this week when we start cleaning out desks, and it is amazing all of the stuff that your child will bring home. Below is what we will be doing over the course of the next week.
TIE DYED T-SHIRTS – You might have noticed that your child brought home a tie dyed t-shirt on Friday. We would like your child to wear this shirt to field day. Here are the washing instructions:
ICE CREAM MULTIPLICATION PARTY – On Tuesday, May 23rd @ 2:20, we will be having our Multiplication Ice Cream Party. Students have been working hard to pass off their multiplication facts and earning their toppings for a banana sundae. I am also looking for volunteers, so if you would like to help out, please let me know.
THIRD GRADE FIELD DAY – Field Day is on Wednesday, the 24th. We will be meeting at Stonefield Park. The address is 4529 S 4700 W, West Haven. It is about .8 of a mile from Quest Academy. We will need all parents to drop off their students at the park between 8:00–8:30. The permission form stated that students could wear their swimsuits. However, West Haven City in not allowing us to access the water so students SHOULD NOT wear their swimsuits. As stated above under the Tie Dye T-Shirt sections, we would like all students to wear their t-shirts. This is considered a dress down day. Quest Talent Show – Quest’s annual talent show will be held on Thursday, May 25th. Kindergarten and 1st grade will perform at 8:40am, 2nd and 3rd grade will perform at 9:15am, and 4th and 5th will perform at 9:50am.

A MESSAGE FOR ADMINISTRATION:
Volunteers needed: For our Uniform Giveaway on May 22nd and 23rd from 8:00am-4:00pm in the Q1 Gym. Anyone needing gently used uniform clothing for the upcoming school year is welcome to come and choose items from our giveaway. We will also be accepting donations of clean, gently used uniform clothing to add to our giveaway items. Donations will be accepted May 18th through 22nd in the Q1 office. We are also still in need of a number of volunteers to help organize the clothing and monitor the tables throughout the giveaway. If you are able to help, please sign up HERE for as many spots as you like.
Yearbooks: Yearbook signing day will be Thursday, May 25th for Junior High students, and Friday, May 26th for elementary students.
**Lunch Accounts**: We have many lunch accounts that are critically negative. Please respond to the many reminders sent by our dedicated kitchen manager by keeping your student’s lunch account current. You may pay by cash or check in the office, or online HERE with card or eCheck. We are also happy to help you with a payment over the phone if you call 801-731-9859. We ask that all lunch accounts are brought current by Monday, May 22. **2023-24 Enrollment**: If you are not planning to have your student return to Quest in the fall, PLEASE contact us as soon as possibleso we may offer those positions to one of the many waiting. We are currently enrolling for the fall and it is critical that we fill all positions as soon as possible. MATH/SCIENCE OLYMPIAD – We need volunteers to help judge the Math/Science Olympiad. If you are willing to help, please sign up below. Judging will be from 8:45 – 10:00 on Thursday the 18th. Sign up for the Math/Science Olympiad. We need more volunteers!!!

The State RISE test begins on Monday morning. This will be the start of our testing period which will last for the next two weeks. Please make sure that your child gets plenty of sleep and has a good breakfast.

This is a good activity to do with your child if you want to give them some extra practice. Please continue to work on multiplication facts with your child at home. In class students will be showing what they know by passing off timed tests.
PLEASE HAVE THEM HERE FOR OUR REVIEWING WINDOW. We have end-of-year testing right around the corner. It is very important that your children are here at school. WE ARE REVIEWING EVERYDAY! It is also important that they are getting a good night’s sleep, a good breakfast, and are here on time.
