Happy Halloween! The end of October is here and I am wondering where the time has gone. Below is what we will be working on this week. MATH – This week we will be working on our multiplication facts 3, 4, and 6. Below is the family letter from our math work book the explains what we are doing in class. On the second page of the letter, there is an activity to help students with multiplication. You are not required to do the activity, it is just a suggestion if you would like your child to practice at home. While we work on our multiplication facts in class, it is so important that students practice their facts at home. 3rd graders are required to pass of their 0-10 facts before they move onto 4th grade.

ELA – This week we are working on Unit 2 Week 4 in our Wonders book. Below is an outline of what we will be learning.

Week of October 19 – October 23

Parent Teacher Conferences – PTCs are this Tuesday and Wednesday. Conferences will be a little different this year as they will be held over Zoom. I will email a Zoom link on Tuesday. (Please note that when you join the Zoom meeting you will be placed into a meeting room until I allow you to enter.) PTCs are a great way to know where your child is at and how they are doing in class. If you did not sign up on Bloomz, you should have received an email with the date and time I assigned you.

Apple Witches – We will be dressing our apple witches this week!

ELA – We will be working on Unit 2 Lesson 3 which is all about voting. We will be talking about the voting process and then students will have the chance to vote on various items. We will not be talking politics or sharing political views. We will just be talking about why and how we vote. Below is an outline of what we will be learning this week.

Week of October 12 – October 16

Where has the month gone?!? This week is Fall Break so it is a short week and we will be doing a lot of catching up. Parent Teacher Conferences – PTCs are coming up on October 20th and 21st. Conferences will be a little different this year as they will be all be held over Zoom. Week of October 5 – October 9

Cookie Dough and Jerky Fundraiser! – The last day of our school fundraiser is quickly approaching. This fundraiser helps our school in so many ways and we need all the support we can get. All money is due October 7th and cookie dough and jerky pick up will be on October 26th.

APPLE WITCHES – Please have your student’s “Apple Witch” dress, gloves, and hat returned to school no later than Wednesday, October 14 before we leave for Fall Break. Also, will you let me know if you’d be willing to make extras? Our witch faces are drying nicely and the class is excited to assemble them!

MATH – We have finished subtracting with 3 digit numbers. This week we will be reviewing rounding, addition, and subtraction.

ELA – We are in Unit 2 Week 2 this week. Below is an outline of what we are learning in class. We have been learning all about the theme of a story.
