VALENTINE’S PARTY:
We will be having our Valentine’s Party after lunch on Feb 14th. We would like to remind you that student’s cannot bring any candy with their Valentines. If they would like they can put some kind of prize with it. When having them fill out  their Valentines please have them just sign their name and not address them to each individual classmate. They will not have to bring a Valentines box we will be making some in class. We will also be decorating Valentine cookies, so please  fill out the permission slip below. Thank you!

FIELD TRIP DONATIONS:
We are planning a few upcoming field trips.  We would like to pay for them in advance.  The forth grade team is asking for each child to donate $7 towards these expenses.  We have two field trips planned.  #1 Ogden Nature Center will be visiting our school during regular school hours (not scheduled yet, no chaperones needed).  #2 The Museum of Ancient History-fossils (Thanksgiving Point May 2, unlimited chaperones as long as you pay your own way *we will be using the Frontrunner to get there and back*).  You may pay these fees at the Front Office.  Have the students turn their receipts into me afterwards.  Parent chaperone fees will be paid at a later date.  Thanks

Stem Group Evaluation 

Our class has earned some free time with electronics tomorrow, January 24.  They may use a device from our classroom, or bring a small, personal one from home.  Please remember that all video games and websites will still need to be school appropriate.

New club! It is going to be 6 weeks and is being taught by Miss Dixon. If you are interested read the form, fill it out, and turn it into the office.

WEATHER TEST

We are hoping to get some help with an issue we are having at the school regarding missing name badges. As stated in our Handbook, “Everyone is required to wear their name badge to attend class (the name badge must be that of the current school year). Please reinforce having name badges as they create a safer environment at the school. To replace a lost name badge, your child will need to pay $5.00 for a new one. A student without a name badge will be referred to the office to call home. Parents/Guardians will be expected to bring their child’s name badge or pay $5.00 for a replacement. Only then will students be allowed to return to class.”

Elementary students are to leave their name badges in their classrooms at the end of the day. Jr. High students are encouraged to leave their name badges in their lockers before leaving. To ensure your child receives a full day’s worth of learning in the classroom, please make sure their name badge is left at school and returned the following day if accidentally taken home. Please note, that you have this week as a grace period to either find your child’s lost name badge or replace it for $5.00. Starting Tuesday, January 16 (one week from today), students who do not have name badges will not be attending class until a new one is purchased or their old one is returned. If parents are working when their children call, they are more than welcome to either pay for a badge using a credit card over the phone or to pay online.

We will be having a christmas party on Friday. Please fill out the form to let us know what treats your student can have.

Thank you for visiting with us during Parent Teacher Conferences!  We love talking about your students and the great progress they are making.

New homework has posted in Google Classroom.  I’ve also assigned a new (optional)  leveled reader in Wonders for your child to read with you at home.  It is listed as “Weekly Leveled Reader U2 W5.  The students have been very excited about getting extra Dojo points for completing this activity.  Tuesday I will send home a quarter sheet of paper that the students will fill out and return on Friday with a parent signature.  This will let me know to award their points.
