What is a LEXILE NUMBER?

Thanks so much for coming to chat about all your AMAZING kiddos! It is so fun to celebrate their success! At PTC we discussed each students Lexile number. This number is printed at the bottom of the SEP form on the front page. This is a number that helps you find books for them to read on their reading level. We will also discuss this number at the next Spring PTC after middle of year testing.  Here is a link to help you learn what books are on their level. There is an additional chart that let’s you know what grade level your child is reading at.

Remember, our school’s homework policy is to have each student read for 20 minutes a night. I prefer you to read with your student anytime possible. The classroom novel is a 4th grade lexile level. If your child is not on grade level, this book must be read with an adult. (You can opt to skip the class novel and only have your child read books at their level-or a reading passage sent home as per PTC). Email me if you have any questions 😉

As always, check your child’s ASPIRE account for current ELA, MATH, or SCIENCE scores. REMEMBER that we are a Mastery school-the kids can retake any test to prove mastery 😉
