What is a LEXILE NUMBER?

Thanks so much for coming to chat about all your AMAZING kiddos! It is so fun to celebrate their success! At PTC we discussed each students Lexile number. This number is printed at the bottom of the SEP form on the front page. This is a number that helps you find books for them to read on their reading level. We will also discuss this number at the next Spring PTC after middle of year testing.  Here is a link to help you learn what books are on their level. There is an additional chart that let’s you know what grade level your child is reading at.

Remember, our school’s homework policy is to have each student read for 20 minutes a night. I prefer you to read with your student anytime possible. The classroom novel is a 4th grade lexile level. If your child is not on grade level, this book must be read with an adult. (You can opt to skip the class novel and only have your child read books at their level-or a reading passage sent home as per PTC). Email me if you have any questions 😉

As always, check your child’s ASPIRE account for current ELA, MATH, or SCIENCE scores. REMEMBER that we are a Mastery school-the kids can retake any test to prove mastery 😉

Our annual Halloween Parade will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. The parade will start at 9:00 am, have your student come to school already dressed in their costume. If your child comes in a costume that has gloves that are attached to the costume, please send something for them to change into after the parade. They need their fingers out of the gloves to play games, eat and wash their hands 😉

Our class party will be from 10:15 to 11:45. Please fill out the Halloween Party Form allowing your child to participate and if you would like to help volunteer.

Additionally, don’t forget that students do not have school on November 1st.

The is the Place Field Trip

Fill out the permission form here 😉

We are heading off campus-YAY!!! Our first field trip will be Thursday, October 5th. We will be going to “This is the Place Heritage Park” in Salt Lake City.

DETAILS: We will be taking school buses to and from the destination. We plan to leave Quest Academy at 8:35 and arrive back around 2:30. Students will need to bring a small backpack that would hold a small plastic water bottle, light jacket, sunscreen (applied before arriving at school), and a small book or cards to read/play on the bus (optional). No cell phones, electronic devices are allowed on our field trip. All pictures will be taken by me or a chaperone and shared on the BLOG afterwards.

Donations: The donation cost is $5 per child. Please pay this at the office or online here: ONLINE PAYMENTS marking “other” and typing Clark field trip. Please pay before Friday Sept 29th.

CHAPERONES: SIX LUCKY PARENTS will get to accompany us on our field trip. I will randomly select the lucky chaperones. Chaperones will need to pay the Quest office $8 field trip fee (your entrance cost) and bring their own lunch. NOTE: No additional people (younger or older family/siblings) are not allowed on the field trip. You will need to ride the bus with us and stay with your assigned group.

LUNCH: Students can bring their lunch from home or order a school lunch sac lunch. There will be two lunch options, an uncrustable or a turkey sandwich. Additionally, they will need to order chocolate or white milk. School sack lunch count is due Friday, Sept 23rd. No late lunches can be added to the count after this date.

If you would like to attend but are not one of our lucky chaperone winners, you may still attend. If you would like to meet us at the park, pay the regular admission fee, and be there at the same time we are, you may attach to your kiddos group. If you choose to drive your child to the venue, they will be marked absent and will need to pay the regular admission fee as well.

Have you filled this out? Permission form 😉
