Our 4th grade FIELD TRIP is finally here!!! Thursday, October 6 to “This is the Place Heritage Park” in Salt Lake City via bus.
We will leave Quest Academy at 8:35 and arrive back around 2:30. We will have about an hour of school left before dismissal. Students will need to bring a small backpack that can hold a small plastic water bottle, light jacket (we are next to the mountain and will get a breeze throughout the day), sunscreen (applied before arriving at school), and a small book or cards to read/play on the bus (optional). No cell phones, electronic devices are allowed on our field trip. All pictures will be taken by Mr. Jeff (my sub) or a chaperone and shared on the BLOG afterwards. Students will need to wear a Quest uniform this day. The color they choose, doesn’t matter.
If you would like to attend but are not one of our lucky chaperone winners, you may still attend. If you would like to meet us at the park, pay the regular admission fee, and be there at the same time we are, you may attach to your kiddos group. If you choose to drive your child to the venue, they will be marked absent and will need to pay the regular admission fee. Please don’t bring additional siblings on the field trip. Stopping in the gift shop is frowned upon. It isn’t fair to other kids. Please return at a later time to do your shopping.
If you ordered a sack lunch for the school, they will be ready to take that morning. No additional school lunches will be available for this field trip. If you didn’t sign-up for one, don’t forget your non-refrigerated home lunch. All students will carry their own lunch and water bottles. Chaperones will need to bring a home lunch too.

We are selling Cookie Dough & Beef Jerky to help fund student activities (ie field trips) and school improvements. Below is the video that Dr. Dave presented today during our kick-off assembly.
All orders need to be entered into the Scoreboard app (code QUE266)
Teacher name is: Mrs. Clark
Watch this short, instructional video to get started on the Scoreboard app (there are also instructions in the student packet). The code you’ll need to enter in the app for Quest is QUE266.
Homework has officially started! Class novel books were sent home today. These books are to be treated as Quest property and will need to be replaced if they are damaged or lost. The book is called “How to Eat Fried Warms.” Maybe you read this when you were a kid.
Students are to read for 20 mins a night. This book is a 4th grade leveled reader. Some students in our class are not reading on this level but would like to participate in the novel study. We discuss the book in the mornings like a book club would. I encourage the students to read the book out loud to a grown up or older sibling. If you find that your child is struggling to read this text, and you can’t read it along side them. Please let me know. I will send a different book home for them to use for their 20 mins reading.
Lastly, students will report their readings on a Google form on Thursday evenings. The link to this form is at the top of the classroom BLOG or HERE.
They will also post how many IXL lessons they have completed in class on this form. I would love your help in checking your child IXL account. Their log-ins were sent home in their parent packets. I put a gold star next to the lessons that I would like them to complete. If they have completed it, it will have a gold ribbon to the right of the lesson. It would be a HUGE help to have them complete some of them at home.
TUTORING has begun. If your student needs tutoring, I will send you an email. I hold tutoring sessions every morning from 8:00-8:20 by invitation only. Watch for the emails. I also tell the student they have tutoring the next morning too. Hopefully, between the student knowing about it and an email, the message will get delivered 😉
