Don’t forget to send homework back Wednesday!

It is so important to read every day and ask fact finding questions from the story to develop your student’s comprehension; this is key to meeting the end of the year benchmark goals for 2nd grade. Our next assessment to measure your child’s reading growth is the first week in January 😉

Diorama Projects-Supplies Needed

Dear Families,

We have an exciting project coming up in science. Each student will be creating an animal diorama using a shoebox or a box no larger than a small laptop. Your child has already selected their animal and started to do some research. Please help them gather supplies to bring to school on Wednesday, November 13. We will assemble dioramas on Thursday, Nov 14 2:30 & Friday Nov 15 at 12:30 during class to the end of day. If you would be willing to come help us with this, please send me an email. The students will then display them in our classrooms on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 2:20-3:00. Parents are welcome to come to this event.

Thank you for your help in making this a fun and educational experience for our students!

Supplies: (Bring Weds., Nov. 13)

  • Shoe box or smaller box (each child bring this)
  • Plastic animals would be great to have for displays, send extra if you can.
  • Rocks, sticks, misc. decorations for the habitat that would be glued into the boxes.

Any supplies provided will be glued into the boxes, please don’t send valuable items.

Here are some examples of what the finished what we are working towards.
