Thanksgiving Break November 19th-23rd
We are starting to use a program called “Helps” in our room. It is a program that with aid in enriching our student’s reading abilities. It is ran by parent volunteers. I have one parent already helping me with this but it isn’t enough. I would like more kids to have the opportunity read with an adult. The program is a reading and retell center. You would come for any amount of time you can. How it works: I send a child out to you (in the hall) and you have them read a passage and then go through the passage with them. Each child takes about a 10 minutes turn with you. I would like enough parents to help, so that each child has the opportunity to participate each week. This time would count towards your volunteer time at our school. You can come consistently or whenever you can fit it in. If you would be interested in helping us, please contact me. THANKS!!!

REMEMBER TODAY IS EARLY OUT!!! WE GET OUT AT 1:30. HAVE A FUN NIGHT AND BE SAFE! NO HOMEWORK TODAY (OR AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING)!!!
We have an order for Scholastic Book orders is open until November 10. Kids took home the fliers today 😉
If this is your first year at Quest, please review our wellness policy regarding food in the classroom. As Halloween is approaching, parents often ask if their children can bring candy to share for their classroom Halloween party. According to our wellness policy, students are not allowed to bring treats to share. Information regarding Halloween party treats will be given to parents one week prior to the party. All parents are required to give permission for their students to consume treats during these activities.
Please note that costumes should be modest and without blood or gore. Though students may paint their faces, masks and weapons are not allowed. Anything that depicts violence is banned (knives, guns, swords, spears, etc.). If you have questions about costume accessories, please contact us. Just to reiterate, no blood, either depicted on the costume or in makeup, is allowed.
We will have our Halloween parade on Wednesday, October 31st, which is a short day. Quest families are welcome to come watch their children parade through the Q2 gym from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Though only Kindergarten through 5th Grade students will participate in the parade, 6th Graders and Jr. High students are welcome to wear costumes as well (or students could choose to treat this day as a free dress down day).
Tutoring begins this week: I am here to help Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 3-3:25. **I won’t have Tutoring this Wednesday-it’s is Halloween and we get out early that day 😉 Your kiddos can come one day or all three days. I need them to let me know in the morning they are staying after. So, I can have material ready for them. You can send them consistently or when you see a need. If I see a need, I will reach out to you too.
