A flyer was sent home with the students on Friday about Positive ME week this week.  These are the different themed days for dressing up: Monday- Hat Day Tuesday- Team Jersey Day Wednesday- Wear your Halloween costume! Thursday- Super Hero Day Friday- Crazy Hair Day

4th Grade Halloween Party is on Wednesday, October 31st. This is what our day looks like:

The Halloween Parade will start at 9:00 am, and parents are welcome to come and enjoy. Our class will walk the halls of Q1 and Q2 in costumes. So, students will wear their Halloween costumes to school!  Please remember NO heavy face make-up, masks or weapons…I need to be able to recognize the kiddos. The classroom party will start at 10:00 and last until 12:00 (when the students go to recess and lunch). In forth grade we combine our parties. So, I have my room of kids for 20 mins. then they rotating into other 4th Grade teachers rooms for the 2 hours. They dance in one, do an art project, watch a movies, and in mine they play a Halloween Kahoot. Kahoot is an electronic quiz game that the kids love! I created a Halloween version that is fun. I don’t need parent volunteers for this party BUT you are always welcome to come and play kahoot and move with your child into different rooms for the duration of the party. I think it is fun to stay and have lunch with them this day. Then, check out early ;).  It is early out day-1:20. When the kids come back from lunch at 1:00 we will be having cotton candy and cleaning our room. Please fill out the food permission slip to allow them to have cotton candy.

This week the class will be viewing out Google Slides. We have made two this Quarter. One on Clouds, and the second is about the book they read with other students in the classroom. They need to show you there slide shows. You are encouraged to help them with corrections/spelling/etc. Please celebrate their efforts! They are getting really good at these.

Fall Break is October 17th-19th (Wednesday-Friday of this week)

No homework this week BUT I would love it if they read everyday 😉 If you child is “bored” over the break, we have lots of stuff in Prodigy for them to work on 😉

TOMORROW IS A SPECIAL DOLLAR DRESS DOWN DAY. Once a year POQA designates a special Dollar Dress Down day to assist a Quest family member in need. Tomorrow, Tuesday Oct 16th, will be a special Dollar Dress Down. If you’re child would like to dress down, please bring a dollar or more to support this Quest family in need.

Reflex to a “green light”
Read for 20 minutes. I would love it if it were read out loud  
Make sure you turn in their minutes on the Reading log.
*Some student have out standing math packets that need to be completed. We work on these in the classroom. After a few days, I send them home to be finished up. These need to be completed by Thursday. The students know what is missing and how to finish them.

Last call-book report forms are due! Send any late forms tomorrow.

This week students will be creating/finishing a Google Slides book reports in the classroom. No need to plan time to finish them at home. They are more then welcome to show them to you at home BUT we are working on them within their “Book Club” groups.

Also, picture re-takes will be on Tuesday, October 9th if you want your child to get them done. Come dressed in a school uniform.

CANNED FOOD DRIVE-
Besst Realty is doing their annual Mission: Possible Canned Food Drive from now until November 1st.  You can donate many different items besides canned foods.  For example: boxed foods, bottled water, Raman, sleeping bags, blankets, gloves, coats, jackets, boots, shoes, diapers, wipes, hygiene items, toothbrushes or floss, etc…
