Stores are now stocked and ready for Valentine’s Day!

Our class will be passing out Valentine’s cards Wednesday, February 14. Students may bring a Valentine’s box to collect their special notes. If they don’t bring one, I will provide a bag for them to use. It is optional to bring Valentines to pass out, if they do, they need to bring enough for 25 students. Please fill out this permission form if you would like them to receive candy from other students. Great options to bring are pencils, stickers, small trinkets, or candy. This is one of the only times Dr. Dave lets them pass out candy.

We will celebrate the last hour of the day. The kids can bring a board game from home to play with a small group of friends this day.

Don’t forget to sign-up for Parent Teacher Conferences. Have a great 3 day weekend!

Tomorrow, Friday Jan 12 our class will have a FUN FRIDAY!

The kids can bring a stuffed animal that will fit on their desks. Not a huge one. If they bring a smallish one, they may bring two. Again, it needs to be the size that fits on their desks. Also, we are going to wear fuzzy socks or slippers while inside. Please make sure they have socks and shoes to wear outside.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, January 31 and Thursday, February 1.  Please note: These will be early out days (1:10pm).

The end of the QUARTER #2 is Friday, Jan 12th. Our class will be assessing on ELA and Science this week 😉

LOTTERY DRAWING HAPPENING SOON!!!

This is a friendly reminder that our Sibling Lottery will be pulled TOMORROW by 12:00 pm. If you have an incoming sibling of a current student, they must be enrolled in the lottery to be eligible for acceptance. Please follow this LINK, or go to our website under ENROLLMENT to enroll.  

When filling out the enrollment application, please verify that you have completed the Sibling Preference section in its entirety in order for your student to be eligible for the sibling lottery. (See snapshot).

You will be notified via email of your child’s acceptance into the school, the next steps in the registration process, and what timeline you will need to follow in order to secure your child’s position at Quest.

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING THIS WEEK…

Thanks for all who attended the rendezvous! It is SUPER fun to see the kids buying and selling their products. Over the holiday break encourage your child to read their classroom novel. The book is due back Jan 5. Merry Christmas and have a safe break 😉 See them back Jan 2nd.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the nice gifts! I have a great group of parents this year. You have filled in and helped every time I have needed anything. Your like little elves. I love all of your humans so much!

The time has come for us to select a yearbook cover for our 2023-24 elementary yearbook. We will be holding a Yearbook Cover Contest to select two students whose artwork will be featured on the front and back cover of the yearbook. This year, students can choose to do artwork that is created digitally or hand-drawn. Each entry must be brought in on a white 8 ½ X 11” paper, and include the school name along with the student’s first and last name in one corner. We will be looking for entries that represent this years theme which is “BE GREAT!” 

Entries are due by Friday, January 5, at 8:30 am.

List of digital art programs suitable for children: Adobe Fresco, Gimp, Krita, Artweaver Free, ArtRange, Sketchpad, Astropad Studio, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Vectr, FireAlpaca, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Paint, Procreate, Tux Paint, Drawing for Children.

• December 12: Rendezvous projects are due. Please bring 30 items. Complete and sign Google permission slip.
• December 14: Quest Choir Performance-wear your hat and sweat shirt.
• December 14: School sing-a-long
• December 14: Wrapped gifts for our gift exchange are due ($5 or gently used item from home) Please send any extra ones you have for kids that don’t bring one in.
• December 14: 4th Grade Rendezvous 2:00-300pm (shopping will be as follows: students only from 2:00-2:30pm then families and friends from 2:30-3:00pm) Visitors will receive “complimentary” pelts to spend. Parents can watch the beginning half from the side lines.
• December 15:  4th grade Polar Express Party and class gift exchange 4th grade Free PJ day or School wide Dollar Dress Down Day! Our class will be watching the Polar Express. Send snacks and a drinks with your child. They will not share food. For the movie, they can bring a small blanket, stuffed animal, and pillow. These must be small enough to carry in a in a backpack.
• December 18-January 1: Winter Recess – see you back on Jan 2nd.

Rendezvous Kick-OFF activities starts tomorrow. To get the kids excited about participating in our rendezvous, we are going have a in-school field trip. This will be December 7 at 2:00. We will be having a mountain man come and teach us about what a rendezvous is. Additionally, he will explain more about mountain men and fur trading. This is part of our 4th grade Utah History study. This will be help at our school in the gym.

Upcoming Rendezvous-We will be having our annual fourth grade rendezvous (a.k.a. the economics fair) on Thursday, Dec 14th. It will be held in the Q1 Gym from 1:45-3:00. This is a fun activity for all who come! ALL are welcome including smaller siblings. THIS IS YOUR INVITE! Guests will receive complementary “pelts” at the door to spend too.
