Reading Logs

Quest Families,
As a reminder, the reading logs for the reading challenge are due Monday morning. This means that your child can count any and all minutes read during the weekend. Happy reading! Remember, the student who reads the most in the elementary will win a bike and the top reader in the jr. high will win an iPad (any book counts–there was some confusion about books needing to be by Dr. Seuss.)
Thanks, Farm Bureau!

American West Heritage Center Field Trip

baby animals
Field Trip! I want all of the permission slips signed before we go on Spring Break!

We need 5 parent volunteers. Since we are so squishy on the bus, all parents will need to drive/carpool to the location in Logan.

Read over the entire form. You can print, sign and bring it in. Or, just sign the Google Doc permission Slip. We are very excited about this!

POQA Info

This year Quest wanted to provide our students with additional learning opportunities by providing clubs and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities. We unfortunately did not have unlimited funds and were limited with the number of students who could participate.  In the future, we would like to offer additional club opportunities for everyone to enjoy.  POQA has taken on the task of raising money and has chosen not to sell cookie dough or gift wrap but to provide an opportunity to showcase what our students have done at a dinner event and silent auction.

Basket Fundraiser (in support of STEM activities for our students)

•Each grade has provided a theme basket with gifts, treats, gift cards, etc. Baskets can be viewed in the Q1 foyer.

•Anyone can purchase ticket(s)

Ticket prices

$1=1 ticket & a sticker

$5=6 tickets & a pencil

$10=15 tickets & a ball

•Tickets can then be placed in the bucket that coordinates with the basket of their choice

•The evening of the Gala, a ticket from each basket will be drawn and the basket will be awarded to the ticket holder (need not be present to win).

Gala tickets are on sale again this week, before and after school, in the foyer of Q1.  If you are unable to purchase tickets at that time, please email lblakely@questac.org with your name and phone number and we will contact you to make arrangements.

Thank you!

“Scales and Tails” are coming!

We are so excited to have our special visitors in two weeks, Wednesday, March 16!

Animal Reports

In second grade we spend a lot of time on our animal unit. This includes some final projects for the end of the school year, including a PowerPoint presentation and a Habitat Diorama. In class, we will do a lot of research on animals and habitats. We will pick our animals this week!

We will learn how to research books, internet search engines, and other apps available to us.

There will be an “at home” project included in this. Students will make a small, shoe-box sized Habitat Diorama for their specified animal. I have attached a more detailed flyer for you to see what this includes.

We will do an Open House for fellow students at Quest, and any parents during the day on April 14, from 9:00-10:30

Diorama Information

I do need to know that this information has been seen by a parent. You may cut the bottom, signed portion off of the above document, and send it with your student back to school.  Or sign the Google Doc letting me know that you are aware of this “at-home” portion of animal project!
