The biggest thing that we have going on this week is Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday & Wednesday. If you have not signed up please check your email. I will be sending you the day and time for your PTC. I will also be sending out the Zoom link for our meeting on Monday. Below is what we will be working on for the rest of the week.

Important Dates:

  • Monday 2/1 –
  • Tuesday, 2/2 – Character Class & PTC
  • Wednesday, 2/3 – Coding & PTC
  • Thursday, 2/5 – Library
  • Friday, 2/5 – NO SCHOOL!
  • BOOK FAIR – 1/25 – 2/7 – Check out the flyer below!!
  • February 12th – Class Valentine’s Party
  • February 15th – No School – President’s Day

Valentine’s Day Party – On Friday, February 12th, we will be having a Valentine’s Day party. We will have the opportunity to pass out and receive Valentines, however we need permission to do this. (Dang Covid!). Please click here for the form. We will also be having a treat. It will either be a sugar cookie or donut. I have received food permission forms for everyone but, if something has changed with your child, please let me know if they CANNOT HAVE a sugar cookie or donut. Just to clarify on passing out Valentine cards. Your child’s name can be on them as who they are from, but please do not address them to the rest of the students. This is very time consuming when passing them out. Also, please remember that the Valentine’s should not contain food. We have 26 students in our class.

Book Fair Details

Math –This week we will be working on fractions. Below is the family letter from our math work book the explains what we are doing in class. On the second page of the letter, there is an activity to help students with fractions. You are not required to do the activity, it is just a suggestion if you would like your child to practice at home. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ARE DONE WITH MULTIPLICATION. MANY STUDENTS ARE STILL WORKING ON MEMORIZING THEIR FACTSWhile we work on our multiplication facts in class, it is so important that students practice their facts at home. 3rd graders are required to pass of their 0-10 facts before they move onto 4th grade!

ELA – This week we are working on Unit 4 Week 4 in our Wonders book. Below is an outline of what we will be learning.

Valentine’s Day Information

I cannot believe that we are already getting prepared for Valentines Day! January felt like a week long! There are two surveys that I have included below. One of them is the food permission form for the entire year. If you haven’t filled this out yet please take a minute to do that so that your child can have treats. If you already filled it out then good job you don’t need to worry! There is also a permission form that I need everyone to fill out. Thanks to COVID we need your permission for your child to participate in passing and receiving Valentines this year. If you do not feel comfortable with this your child just won’t participate in that portion of our day.

Permission for receiving and giving Valentines: https://forms.gle/gav3bVaCywaizcX99

Food Permission Form: https://forms.gle/f4XfGCpCfjVf9dPZA

IN CLASS LEARNERS:

If you would like to bring a box for your Valentines please bring that, and all of your Valentines the morning of Friday, February 12th. Please make sure to fill out both permission forms so that I know what your child can participate in.

E-LEARNERS:

If you would like your child to participate in Valentine’s Day by receiving and passing Valentine’s with the class I am asking that you have your box and valentines on Thursday February 11th. I will then as the students are passing out theirs to place one in your child’s box. You are then welcome to come pick the box up Friday February 12th after school.

Remember we have 26 students in our class, and please no licked envelopes closed! Thank you for all that you do! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
