Jocelyn will be able to display a poster about herself in the classroom and bring a show and tell item to class!  We can’t wait to learn more about Jocelyn!

I am still missing permission for five students to be able to go on the field trip next week.  Those students came home with a reminder cuff on their wrist.   Please get this done ASAP!  And please make sure you have paid the office.  If your child does not have permission, they will not be able to go on the field trip.  Also, if they are needing a school sack lunch, I need to get those numbers in tomorrow.  Those who already filled out the form, I have your information.

Thank you to everyone who was willing to come along with us!  I could only take five chaperones.  I will be posting more details about the field trip as it gets closer.

Also, there is math homework that will be sent home today and tomorrow.  There was also a sheet sent home last night.  Please take the time to help your child get these done!

Today’s math homework is pretty short.  I am attaching this photo to help remind the students of the many ways we can discover if a number is even or odd.  This is what we created today to show the many ways we can do this.

Parents,
I will need your permission for your student to attend the field trip to Gibson Green Acres, scheduled for Thursday, October 4, 2018. Please give your permission by clicking on the link below and completing the online form.  We are also asking for a $7 donation from each family, to help cover the costs of the field trip.  The $7 donation can be made at the Q1 office.  Click on the link below to access the permission form:

I will need a few parent volunteers to help chaperone our field trip from 10:00am-1:00pm. Parent volunteers will meet us at Gibson Green Acres.  The address is:

Things to remember for the field trip:
*All lunches need to be in a disposable paper/plastic sack labeled with your student’s name.  
*All lunches must not require heating as no microwaves will be available. 
*Disposable water bottle labeled with your student’s name. 
*Sturdy footwear for walking through fields
*Put sunscreen on your students that morning.
*No siblings are allowed to join us on the field trip. 
*Students need to be in school uniform this day.

Don’t forget!  I had a few turned in today.  They are all due on Monday.

Your child brought home a page titled Family Interview.  Please help them with gathering information to get this completed.  The students will be graded on completion of this form.  They will also be scored on presenting the information to the class and bringing an item representing where their ancestors came from.  This item can include clothing, trinkets, or even a photo.  This is due by Monday.  Part of your child’s score on this project will also be listening.  Students will be expected to show good listening skills during the presentation of other students.  For Social Studies, we are studying communities.  Students are discovering where they are from as well as others in their class.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dear Parents,
Your students came home with a few things today.  The first is the family letter.  This one has the letter to you, explaining what we are covering this week.  The second math paper is one that we did not get to complete today.  I told the students that if they wanted to get it done at home, that I would reward them for it tomorrow.  If they are struggling, please know that this was our first day on this topic.  This paper is just extra practice.  The family letter does not need to be returned.
