Please have your child wear a red shirt tomorrow!

If your child is dressing down, they need to bring a dollar.  They may dress down.  However, the shirt does need to be mostly red.  They may also choose to come in uniform, if they do decide to to that, please have them wear their red uniform shirt.
Thanks!

Class Parties

Dear parents,
There were many of you who signed up to help out with class parties at Back to School night.  If you are still interested, please let me know if you are okay with me giving your contact information to our Room Parent.  Please email me at bzimmerman@questac.org with your name and preferred contact info.  I cannot give your information to her until permission is given.

Also, we seem to have a thief in our midst.  Things have been disappearing that belong to either myself or the students.  This needs to stop.  Please talk to your students about what has been happening in our classroom.  A student’s bling coop (the chick from the fundraiser) went missing the last 30 minutes of the day today from her mailbox.  We searched the classroom and we chatted about honesty.  I am no longer allowing the chicks in the classroom because they have turned in to quite a problem.

Thanks for all you do,
Mrs. Zimm

Homework Sept 11-15

Please print the following page for homework this week:
WeeklyReadingLog

Homework folders went home with your child on Friday.  They are to keep them in their backpacks for home to school communication.  Notes from you or anything else I need to receive from you may be put into this folder.  Please check this folder regularly as I will send notes and unfinished assignments home in it as needed.  Unfinished work that is sent home needs to be returned the following day for credit.  Your child will know if they have unfinished work.

We will be going over our Language Arts homework this week in class.  I will not ever send anything home with your student that has not already been explained.  This Language Arts homework will start coming home in the folder next week.  This homework is simple and fun and should not require your assistance.  Please encourage them to be proactive about getting their homework done.

We had such a great week last week!  The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium visited us and the students were able to interact with amazing animals from the rainforest.  We also had our fundraiser assembly for the cookie dough.  The students were also able to visit the STEM lab for the first time.  Library will start this week.

Thanks for all you do as parents!  Second grade is a year of learning responsibility and independence.  These guys are working so hard and making great strides!  I am so proud of them and enjoy our time together!

Thanks again,
Mrs. Zimm
