Important Star Information
MONDAY AUGUST 24TH IS PICTURE DAY! PLEASE BRING YOU VERY BEST SMILES!!! 🙂 PARENTS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SEND THE PICTURE FORM AND MONEY WITH YOUR CHILD.
I will begin sending your student’s homework folder home next week, however it won’t contain any homework YET. It may contain some classwork and school information however. This will be a great way for your student to practice being responsible in that they will be bringing it from school to home then back to school. Have your student show you their folder and any work that they have in there…THEN, have them put it right back in their backpack so it will be ready for the next day.
We will start going to the library September 14th. First checkout will be November 2nd. Please look at the bulletin board by the library to see more about this years book challenge . It’s called “Stacking Books” instead of putting leaves on a tree. More details will follow… Be ready my little ROCK STARS cause I want to ROCK THIS CHALLENGE!
YEAH!!! I can’t wait see what fun adventures we will have while visiting Hogle Zoo. Save the date…Tuesday September 8th. Buses will be pulling out promptly at 8:45! THANKS SO MUCH, I had 10 parent volunteers. From what I understand, only five parent volunteers can ride the bus with our class to the zoo…SO… Let me know if you are for sure going and would be willing to drive your own car. If you want to bring siblings plan on driving your own car. The donation fee for each student is $3. JUST IN CASE…Please be prepared (Just in case) to pay for yourself and any extra children you bring. Please bring a disposable sack lunch with your student’s name on it. Chaperones, please bring a bag to put your student’s lunches in. Since our time at the zoo is so limited, we will not be stopping by any gift shops…
Parents you have the most amazing students!!! Mrs. Hill and I are so impressed with how kind they are in addition to how HARD and willing they are to try new things. Today they practiced writing a couple sentences. We reviewed the following language/writing concepts the first letter of every sentence ALWAYS starts with a capital letter, each word has a space before and or after it, as well as using the correct ending mark. When you are reading with you student, please point out these important language concepts. Have your student pay attention to your/their reading voice…When do voices go up or down…speed up and slow down.
Parents and students, thanks again for all your support it means so much. We are going to have such a fantastic star filled year!!!
Love,
Mrs. Vella and Mrs. Hill
