We are going to be making a book as a class, which, will be written and illustrated by the kids. It will be professionally put together, and bound by a company called Student Treasures Publishing…The best part is… that it will be available for parents to purchase. There are two great choices for binding. The book is hardback. I think it would make a fantastic gift for Mother’s or Father’s Day, or as a first grade keepsake. I am posting some pictures from Miss. Smith’s class book, so you get an example of what the finished product is like. Please talk with your student(s) about some possible writing ideas.
Our book will be titled: What If…
The following are the “What If” subjects your student has chosen to write their story about.
There are a couple characters that may need to be revisited this week, however, it will depend on the direction and story line the students are able to come with.
- We will begin to draft and revise stories this week. Please help your student think of the following items that pertain to their character:
- What is their character’s name ?
- What does the character look like?
- What things can it do, eat and see?
- What (adventure) is going happen in their story?
