1-READ, READ, READ!!! Then record your minutes on your reading calendar. The library reading challenge is over so no need to report minutes there.
- Next Thursday, May 11th will be the last day I will be sending home ” Baggy Books.” PLEASE make every effort to turn in ALL your student’s books by Friday, May 12th. I will be taking an inventory of all books thereafter, and assessing fees to students who have lost or damaged these books. These books are costly to purchase, especially the colored ones I personally purchased for my classroom. After the 12th, as always, you are welcome to use books from your personal home libraries, community library, or an online library to complete reading homework requirements for the rest of the year.
- ALL first grade students will be given a comprehensive HIGH FREQUENCY spelling and reading test. These HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS, are the words we have been using for spelling tests throughout the year. They can be found, in case you want to make flash cards, on my blog under the HOMEWORK TAB.
- I will begin testing the students next week on the spelling portion then the reading. Below are the dates, with each specific word that will be tested on that date. I am giving you an early heads up so you can begin to STUDY THEM NOW!!
