1-READ, READ, READ!!! Then record your minutes on your reading calendar. The library reading challenge is over so no need to report minutes there. I will be taking your student’s reading log Friday, May 19th for grading purposes.
- Thursday, May 11th was the last day sent home ” Baggy Books.” If your student didn’t turn in ALL the books he/she has used Friday, May 11th just know that I and Mrs. Sharp have begin inventory checks and will begin assessing return fees based on the non-returned books. These books are VERY costly to purchase, especially the colored ones I personally purchased for my classroom. These books must be purchased in sets which run between $35-$45 per set at last count. Any fees for these lost or damaged books need to be paid to the office NO LATER THAN Wednesday, May 24th.
- ALL first grade students will continue to be given a comprehensive HIGH FREQUENCY spelling and reading test. These HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS, are the words we have been using for spelling tests throughout the year. They can be found, in case you want to make flash cards, on my blog under the HOMEWORK TAB.
- I am giving you a heads up so you can begin to STUDY THEM NOW!! Also any make-up tests will be given as time permits which includes student recess. PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO HAVE YOUR STUDENT HERE ALL DAY EVERYDAY, AND PLEASE BE ON TIME!
