ALL HOMEWORK IS DUE FRIDAY APRIL 15TH
For this weeks homework, there are 4 required components:

Tuesday: Chapter 10 Lesson 1 Cubes and Prisms
Wednesday: Chapter 10 Lesson 2 Cones and Cylinders
Thursday: Chapter 10 Lesson 3 Problem Solving Strategy: Look for a Pattern
MATH FACTS WEEKLY TIMINGS*
The goal is to finish 25 problems in 1 minute and 30 seconds, with 90% accuracy (23 out of 25 problems correct). To print the timed test click here: Timings-ALL

RECORD YOUR READING EVERY DAY YOU READ ON YOUR “BOOK IT” READING LOG located in your green folder.
***There are SEVERAL SOURCES for reading: “Reading for all Learners” also known as”Baggy books” SENT HOME FROM SCHOOL, books from HOME LIBRARIES or the PUBLIC LIBRARY and our ON LINE READING program Raz-Kids. Our class Raz-Kids login is: dvella0 (that’s a zero)

***REMEMBER that in order for your student to pass off a “Baggy Book”, they must have fewer than 2 mistakes per book or 3 per chapter. Please be sure to sign the “Baggy Book” log when your student has successfully mastered each book/chapter.
Don’t forget about reading comprehension too! Understanding what you are reading is just as important as being a fluent reader!!! PLEASE use these Re-Tell Ropes whenever you are reading with your student checking for understanding as THIS WILL ALSO HELP THEM PREPARE FOR OUR FINAL DIBELS TEST COMPREHENSION PIECE.

5- Save the dates: 1st Grade field trip to the Hill Aerospace Museum Tuesday, April 26th. Please watch for the Permission Form and more details about the field trip in the next day or two.
Please plan on preparing a disposable sack lunch for your student as lunch will not be provided.
WE are asking each student to provide a $3.00 donation if possible to help cover the cost of bus transportation to and from the museum. WE are charged per hour for the buses so it doesn’t take long to incur a hefty charge.
*** Also Included on the form will be permission to view a couple Charlotte’s Web Movies.
This is our current classroom reading book. Ask your student about what we may have read that day.

Spring Picture Day on Monday
Spring pictures will be taken on Monday, April 11th. Thus, uniforms are not required on this day. Please note that students should still follow dress down day guidelines by wearing appropriate attire. All students, unless you indicated otherwise, will have their picture taken. A proof will be sent home later with an order form if you choose to order.

3-Reading Fluency. Mrs. Hills/Tiecherts’s class average on the reading fluency pages has skyrocketed from 21 words per minute at the beginning of the year to a class average of 83 words per minute to date. Way to go, readers!
I would like to see a bigger jump in our class as well. The ONLY way that will happen is if everyone is practicing READING more.

I’ve just learned about a very engaging online math game found at prodigygame.com. Prodigy is offering a great opportunity of a discounted account upgrade to students at Quest. Please read the attached form and IF you are interested, please submit the form and money to Q1 office before March 23.
