About elenoa.fisher

I was born and raised in the beautiful Islands of Tonga in the South Pacific. I come from a Tongan mother and a German father. I graduated with honors from Saineha High School on the island of Vava’u, and received a four-year student-work program scholarship to attend Brigham Young University in Hawaii. While earning my degree, I worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center as an instructor and a model. There, I met my prince charming, David Fisher, and we were married in the Portland Oregon Temple in July of 2000. David is an attorney here in Utah. We’ve been married for 11 years and have two wonderful children, Ailine who is 10 years old, and Kawika who is 8 years old. We also have 2 little poodles, Rusty and Missy.
I began teaching first grade at Quest Academy Charter Elementary School in 2008. I am very excited about the wonderful year ahead of me, and the great opportunity to teach third grade!

Hogle Zoo Field Trip

Hello, parents!

We received a LOT of volunteers to chaperone our field trip to the zoo! Thank you!
On the day of the field trip, please be sure to have your child wear a school-approved red shirt, and comfortable shoes (there will be a lot of walking at the zoo!)  Also, everyone needs to bring their own lunches as the school will not provide lunch that day.  I will post the names of all of the volunteers on the blog by this Thursday.

Please remember that if you signed up, I’m counting on you to be a chaperone for our zoo trip!  Also, please be sure to meet with me in my classroom at 8:15 A.M. the day of the zoo trip to go over the proper protocol.  Lastly, please bring a back pack large enough to assist some of the students carry their lunches.

The bus will leave at 8:45 on Tuesday, September 2nd.
we will be arriving at the zoo around 10:00, and we will all be entering the zoo together. The zoo address is 2600 E. Sunnyside Avenue, Salt Lake, UT, 84108. In the past, the buses drove to the back gate to enter and parents met us there, however, last year the zoo changed to have us meet at the front gate – I am assuming that this will also be the case this year, so please plan on meeting us out front. If this changes, either I or another teacher will meet the parents at the front gate after we arrive at the back or vice versa.

We will be leaving the zoo between 12:30 and 1:00, and we will be arriving back at the school at 2:30.
Lastly, we are asking for a $3.00 donation to help pay for the field trip.  If you can pay this, please send it directly to the office.  We greatly appreciate anything that you can donate for our trip.
Thank you!

1st Week of School

Yay! We successfully made it through the first week of 1st Grade!  I just want to quickly let you all know how I love teaching your sweet special little children. They are so smart and cute in every way.
For the first week, we have been learning classroom procedures and also we have been learning a lot of rules. This week we are finishing up with most of our testings and assessments. Your children have been amazingly great with following directions and learning all kinds of new things in 1st Grade. I am so proud of them.
Just a quick reminder to please read with your child every night their take-home-reading books and be sure to sign their reading paper (inside their yellow folder) and send it back with your child to school each day. They will get super fun prizes for consistently reading and turning in their yellow folder each day. Thank you so much for all your help and support.
