Story Telling Festival Field Trip

Monday:  Friend “Ram” Grams will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week before and after school for
                       25 cents each. Kindergarten-4th grade Ram Grams will be sold in the Q1 building, and 5th grade-junior high
                       Ram Grams will be sold in Q2. Ram Grams will be delivered on Thursday morning to the students’
                       homerooms or first period class, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Story Telling Festival Field Trip

On Monday, February 25th, the 5th grade will be attending the Weber State Story Telling Festival. The festival will be held at the Perry Egyptian Theater in Ogden. Bus will be taking us to and from the event. Students will be attending the 9:30 and 10:30 sessions. The busses will be leaving the school promptly at 8:45 and will be back to the school for lunch, so there is no need to pack any food. The festival will allow students to understand how to add expression and emphasis to their reading. Please sign the form below letting me know if your student is allowed to attend.

We will be allowing two parent chaperones per class. Please indicate below if you would like to attend. I will randomly select the two chaperones on February 15th, and let those who were selected know, that they will be coming.

Our week of celebrating 1000 days of school is off to a good start.  I assigned the class today to find 1000 of a specific item and bring it into class by Thursday.  The only rule is that it all has to fit in a ziplock bag, I am not worried about the size.  Help your student get their creative juices running.

I am excited to see what they come up with!

1000th Days if School
This week will be celebrating the students 1000th day of school.  One of the activities the students will be participating in is 1000 random acts of kindness.  Students are encouraged to perform random acts of kindness throughout the week, at home and at school.  There will be large poster hanging in the 5th grade hall where students can write down the act they performed.  Our goal is to complete 1000 by the end of the week.

Valentines Party Permission Slip

On February 14th our class will be having our Valentine’s party. We will be having a Valentine Card exchange in conjunction with the party. Students are welcome to bring a decorated box or bag. The card exchange is optional. If your student would like to participate please remember that food items are NOT allowed with the cards. Toys, pencils, erasers, etc. are allowed to accompany cards, but are not required. Any students participating will need to bring a card for each member of our class, 25 students total.

We will also be having a class party from 1:00-3:00 pm. We will be using food items as part of our party. Please click on the link below allowing permission for your student to handle and consume the following items. There will be optional items for students who are not able to have them.
