Hello Everyone! We had another great week of learning!
I hope you all  stay warm and safe this weekend, and do something positive to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  We had a great discussion about him and watched a large portion of the “I Have a Dream” speech in class this afternoon.   Take a few minutes to speak about the importance of treating everyone with respect as we remember Dr. King.

Remember that students don’t have school on Monday, January 2oth or Friday, January 24th.  They will also have an early release day on Thursday, January 23rd.

Because we are having such a short week, we will not be starting a new ELA unit, but we will be learning about the branches of our government in preparation for our upcoming field trip.
Speaking of which, if you have not yet filled out the field trip permission from, please do so as soon as possible.  You can find it at this link:

We still need 4 more chaperones, so if you are interested in coming with us, please indicate it on the form.
Thank you to those of you who have already signed up for Parent – Teacher Conferences.  If you have not already done so, please follow the link below to sign up for your time.  I look forward to meeting with you.

Math:

We will continue learning about multiplying fractions.  This week we’ll investigate finding area with fractions.  Most of the class has done pretty well understanding the basics, so we should do pretty well expanding our understanding.

Thank you for everything you do!  Let’s have a great week!
