All Kinds of Happenings (Schedule for the Rest of the Year!)

First of all!
thCelebrate! Testing is complete. This year the year end test was new to the entire state of Utah. As teachers we weren’t sure what to expect. Now that everything is said and done I couldn’t be more proud of your kiddos. They put forth their best effort and tried their best. Scores for the year end test are not expected to be released until November. 🙂

Now that testing is over I wanted to give you a run down of the next 10 days. Yes! that’s right 10 days CRAZY!!!

5/16, Tomorrow, students will have an hour long read-a-thon in the classroom. They are allowed to bring books, blankets, and electronic reading devices. At the end of the day Ms. Young, a third grade teacher, will be with our kiddos. She is completing her master project. The information is in the permission slip below. If you haven’t had a chance to sign the slip please sign and return it tomorrow. I think this is a great opportunity for them to help someone succeed in school and also share their feelings about school lockdown drills.

Tuesday 5/20- We will be going on our final field trip. We will be taking the students to see Rio 2 at the Gateway Megaplex in Salt Lake City. All the information is included in the permission slip below. I sent a permission slip home tonight but just incase here is another copy.

Wednesday 5/21- We will get a chance to view the 1st grade’s opera. This is always a fun event for the older kids.

Friday 5/23- Talent Show Day!

5/29 The third grade team has planned a “Super Fun Filled Third Grade Celebration!” We have a day long celebration planned. The details and information are included in the permission slip below.

5/30- Our Final Day will be a field day. POQA is working hard to assure the kids have a fantastic day. They are asking that all third graders wear green shirts that day.

Wow! You made it to the bottom of this post! I know there is a lot to sign and a lot going on. I think it is really important to celebrate school and all the hard work the kiddos have put forth all year. Thank you for all you have done all year.

Lastly, I know that it has gotten out that I am leaving Quest at the end of the school year. I want you all to know that I have loved my time at Quest. It has been an amazing school, with amazing staff, parents, and most importantly students! I leave with a very sad heart. At the beginning of the year I would have never thought I would be leaving. Life and family have a different plan. I just wanted everyone to know how much I have loved your children this year it will be hard to say goodbye.
