Happy Friday!!

Happy 100th Day of School!!

I can hardly believe that we are at the 100th day of school. I guess the official count down to the end of the year has begun. I have an amazing class of students who have all shown such huge jumps in their knowledge and their abilities. I am proud of all them and how hard they work.

Third grade is a tough year as students transition from little kid to big kid. Everything about school is a little tougher and personal responsibility becomes a big part of your kiddo’s life. This is also the first year that your child will have to take a year end test. Over the next couple of months we will start focusing on test taking strategies and ways to ace the test. 🙂

Unfortunately, in today’s world of testing  your child’s test results are important to me, Quest, and most importantly your child.  I want to prepare them to do the best that they can!!!!

Tentatively our testing dates our…

Writing: April 21st 8:30-9:30 and April 23 8:30-9:30
Language Arts: April 29th 2:00-3:00 and May 1st 2:00-3:00
Math: May 12th 9:20-10:20 and May 14th 9:30-10:30

If you’re anything like me you are feeling a little stunned about the vigor of your third grader’s testing schedule.

Please help your children out by talking to them about the importance of the test, and helping them feel confident about their abilities. A good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast always help. I even know parents who make a celebration out of testing days.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I am letting you know about testing dates to help in planning any trips or vacation time. Please keep in mind that we do a heavy review session for each test for 1-2 weeks before each specific test.

Thank you for all you do!!
