I can only let two parents attend our field trip. This is due to the space in the planetarium. If you would like to attend let me know as soon as possible.

Halloween and PTC
Hello October!
I can’t believe it is October 1st! The holiday season has officially begun. I love this time of year and Halloween is MY favorite holiday. That is only one of the reasons that I am excited that this year Quest k-6 students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes. Halloween costume guidelines are below. Also, keep in mind that children will be participating in PE that day.
We will start the day with a Halloween parade. Parents are encouraged to stay in the gym of Q2 the morning of Halloween. Students will all parade through the gym before returning to class.
After we return to class we will have a class party. Mrs. Dunyon will be heading up our fun and would like 4-5 parents to assist. Please let me know if you are able to help and we will contact you with more information.
Guidelines for Costumes: no blood, gore, weapons, violence, masks, or other face coverings. Students can use face and hair paint, but must be removed for school the next day.
PTC Almost all of our parents have signed up for a PTC time. If you haven’t had time please sign up soon. You can sign up online or at school.

Hello!
Hope you all had a fabulous Monday. We had a special visitor today talk to us about how to stay healthy. She will be talking to us again on Thursday and Friday. Hopefully, we learn ways to keep the winter colds and sniffles away.
Tonights Homework:
Read: Free Choice, read for as long as you want. Don’t forget to log minutes. Also, remember we are trying to earn a reading party. You must read a minimum of 1,500 minutes to attend the party.
Word Work: Complete Monday’s Word Work. Watch your video, sort your words, and write your words in your spelling journal.

I wanted to post a quick PTC update. Below is the schedule as of right this minute. If I have you down for the wrong time or have missed your email or blog comment please let me know.
Below the conference time is a little video with pictures and recordings from our Artist visit. We had a lot of fun! I can’t wait until our next adventure.
Speaking of our next adventure we have a field trip planned for October 14th. We will be visiting the planetarium at Weber State. Permission slips will be coming home on Tuesday.
Please remember to pay the 10.00 field trip fee to the office. This will cover all of our field trips this year. We are working on three more… Details will be made available as soon as everything is cleared.
Thank you for all you do and I am looking forward to meeting with you soon!
PS It is past my bedtime and I see a couple of typos on the PTC sign ups. I promise to fix them tomorrow. YAWN!! But right now I have to get rested for all my favorite munchkins tomorrow.

Hello Wednesday!
I hope you all had a great time today during our Art time. Isn’t it fun to learn new things? I will get pictures up as soon as I can. Homework for tonight is listed below. Have a great night!

Word Work: Work on your spelling tic-tac-toe. I am loving some of the homework I am seeing. Look below for some pictures of excellent work!
Math: Complete the backside of the worksheet we did today in class. This is a review of adding while regrouping. If you left it at school here is a copy for you to print. 2-digit Addends
Science: Please bring a small garden shovel tomorrow. Lots of shovels means less waiting time during planting. (We may be rained out so we will plant on a sunny day if this happens.)
Parents: Just a reminder to signup for parent teacher conference. The signups are on my classroom door or you can comment below with two preferred times. I will post available times later tonight. Walk-a-thon papers are due back to school as soon as possible. You can check out more information about what is going with POQA by clicking here. Finally, If you would like to come and take part in our tulip project we will be have the presentation and planting tomorrow at 2:00.

Volunteers Needed and Parent Teacher Conference
Hello,
We have a lot of exciting activities planned this week in our classroom. I need lots of parent help to make sure the students have a great time.
First: Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 we will have an artist coming to our classroom. I would love to have 2-3 parents there to help with the project she will have for the students.
Second: Also, on Wednesday after school from 3:30-4:15 we need help prepping flower beds. This means loosing up the soil and preparing the beds for tulip planting. Please bring a shovel! 🙂
Third: Thursday (1-3) I need a couple of parent volunteers to help with tulip planting. We will have a presentation from a Thanksgiving Point employee teaching the students about Tulips. Afterwards each student will be given a Tulip to plant. Help in managing the students during the planting would be appreciated.
Finally, our classroom has undergone several changes since back to school night. I am asking that everyone please sign up for parent teacher conference again. You can sign up by commenting below with your first and second choice, or you may come into the school. Sign ups will be on my classroom window. PTC will be October 9th and 10th from 3:30-7:30. Each conference is about 10 minutes.
Thank you for sharing your kiddos with me. They are a fun group.
