Happy Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We have 5 weeks of school left!! So much to do so little time. We will continue having after school tutoring until May 23, 2014. If you need help with homework or want to improve your reading and math skills please join us right after school Monday-Thursday. The tutoring schedule is posted on all third grade teacher’s windows.

Homework Tonight:

Reading: Please read the article about the Amazon rain forest posted under the science tab. After you are done reading click on the link at the bottom of the screen and answer 5 short questions about what you read.

Math Fluency: 3 Fast Math sessions are due at the end of each week. Students no longer have this assignment once they pass off multiplication. We have 3 students who have completed multiplication. WOO WOO!!

Math: Starting this week I will be posting a review sheet on Monday that is due on Thursday. Please make sure you can do all the problems by yourself. If you have questions let me know. This assignment will help prepare you for your year end math test. Chapters 4-7 review

Field Trip Announcement…. We have the opportunity to attend Thanksgiving Point’s Tulip Festival. The permission slip and all details are below. Permission Slips are due tomorrow! We will be going Friday May 2, 2014. I will post the chaperones who are selected to attend Tuesday night on the blog.

Math Fluency: 3 Sessions of Fast Math are due by Saturday night

Math: Log onto Kahn Academy and work for 15 minutes.

Thursday is our field trip. Please meet at the Front Runner Station in Roy no later than 8:30. Read the permission slip for information about lunch and other necessary items for a fun filled day.

Chaperones please pay your five dollars to the office. Any money that is not collected will come out of the students field trip fund. This may prevent us from attending our last field trip. 

Finally, if you didn’t bring your USB drive to school today please bring it tomorrow. Without the USB drive you will not be able to complete an IMovie at the Apple Store.

Math Fluency: Three  sessions of Fast Math are due by Saturday Night

Math: Complete the attached worksheet on Perimeter. You may write the answers on blank piece of paper. Don’t forget to write your name on your paper. Perimeter

Hopefully, I have received all usb drives and pictures for our Apple Field trip on Thursday. If you have not brought it please, please, please, bring it tomorrow.

Also, Parents that are attending the field trip please pay the 5.00 fee to the office as soon as possible. Due to the number attending we are required to pay at the Hansen Dome and for additional Frontrunner tickets.  Thank you.

Welcome Back!

Are you ready for another learning filled week? We have lots to do this week and a field trip. All pictures for your IMovie were due today. If you did not bring your pictures today please bring them tomorrow. Instructions for the pictures are below.

Homework Tonight:

Reading: Please watch the video on the “How do Plants Grow” science page and respond to the questions. Use complete sentences when you respond.

Math Fluency: Three sessions of Fast Math are due by Saturday night. Remember this is part of your homework grade. Last week only 8 students received full credit. Each Fast Math session is about 5 minutes. 

Math: Today we took our Chapter 12 post test and we have started to review for our year end test. Tonight log onto Kahn Academy and work for 15 minutes. Also, an addition worksheet with regrouping is coming home today. Students may complete this worksheet for extra credit. 1 Point for every correct answer that shows work.

We will be working on review and the last two chapters of math over the next month.

Apple Field Trip!

On our Apple Field Trip each student will be making an IMovie all about him/herself. Students will need about 20 pictures to complete their IMovie and a favorite song. You can send the pictures in one of two ways.

First, upload the 20 pictures and song to a thumb drive. 

Second, upload the 20 pictures and a song to your students file on our class drop box. This is super simple all you have to do is email me and I will send you the username and password.

Please have the pictures and song uploaded (returned to class) by Monday April 14, 2014. This week we will be making video recordings of each student that will need to be added to their file.

I’m making this a tad bit more complicated but I think the students will enjoy working on a project all about them. If you have any questions please let me know.
