Hello My Fabulous Third Grade Friends! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday break. I spent a lot of time with my family snuggling by the fire and trying to stay warm. It seems as if winter has finally arrived. I hope you are ready to get back to school and back to learning. I have a lot of fun learning planned for this coming week. We are going to continue to test multiplication fluency each Friday. Under the homework tab you will now find a multiplication fluency page. This page list several websites that will help you master your multiplication facts. Also, there is a chart that list which fluency fact each student has mastered. The students are listed by an id number please email me to receive your id number. The first few weeks back from break we will be working on learning prefixes and suffixes. Since the Words their Way program offers several sorts that focus on these skills the whole class will be working on the same sorts. Some students may find these words extra challenging don’t be discouraged the focus is learning the meaning of the prefixes and suffixes. Be prepared we are going to jump right back to learning on Monday. We have a lot to accomplish before spring break. Just incase you are wondering there are 58 days of school until another, hopefully warmer, break. I am so excited to see you on Monday. Have a fabulous weekend. Mrs. H PS. These are two of my favorite pictures from the break. Any guesses what is going on in either picture?                     PPSS Parents, I was at Wall-Mart today and they had packs of 12 expo “multi-colors” thin markers on sale for 4.97. This is a huge savings over what they normally cost. Everyone was super generous at Christmas but if you could donate a pack of these pens to our class that would be fantastic. Please don’t feel obligated I grabbed two sets and thought I would ask. Thank you for all that you do!!!
