Hello!! Tonights homework… Reading: Read 20 minutes and log reading online Language Arts: WTW (Words Their Way) Monday assignment. I sent all the WTW homework home with the students today. Their sorts are not posted online. If it doesn’t make it home let me know. Spelling City. Take the vocabulary quiz on your words. Try to get a perfect score. Mathematics: IXL 10 minutes Addition Third Grade   PS Many of the students were able to get their Spelling City and IXL homework done during computer lab today. Also, a letter went home with the students that states if they are reading on grade level or not.

WTW (Words Their Way) Complete the homework for the week Spelling test tomorrow. All homework is due on Friday. Don’t panic if you have a night you can’t get to the homework just make sure it is all done by Friday.

Welcome to our 4th week of school. Homework tonight… Reading: Read 20 minutes and log minutes Mathematics:IXL 2nd Grade N.2 10 minutes Language: Words Their Way Spelling. Print the weekly homework from the earlier “Spelling” post or it can be found under homework. Your student should be bringing home their words in a bag so you shouldn’t have to print the sort. They will explain to you the pattern and how the sort works. Ask them what is an oddball? Spelling City Homework. This was a little nuts at the end of the day explaining how this works. We will go over it again during computer lab so if they know what to do great if not don’t worry. Handwriting. Print a handwriting work sheet from your spellingcity spelling words. Write each word three times and hand it in. The handwriting worksheets are found under the game options.

Hello, This year Quest Academy will be using two spelling programs. The first program is a high frequency word list.  The list has 300 words that all third graders should be able to read, write, and spell by the end of the year. The class was tested on the first 30 words. Individual spelling lists were created based on the words they missed from that list. This week, students will receive a username and password to spellingcity.com. After the students log in they will see a list with their name. Their list contains five words that they need to pass off. Each week your student will need to pass off a minimum of five words. They will take the tests at home and bring me the certificate or a signed note from you and I will update their list with the next five words. Learning these words will improve your childs writing as well as their reading. Please encourage them to practice, practice, practice. The second spelling program is “Words Their Way.”  “Words Their Way” is a phonics based program that teaches students to recognize phonics and word patterns. This program teaches each student on their level. This week will be a practice week and all students will be on the same level. Daily, I will review with the students their homework. Nightly, they will teach you what they learned. We will take a “Words Their Way,” test Friday. There will be weeks that are challenging so please trust your student and if you have any questions email me. This weeks “Words Their Way,” sort. Please print.
