WeDnESdaY!!

Homework Tonight!

Reading: Free Choice. Don’t forget to log your reading minutes

Word Work: Work on your spelling tic-tac-toe

Math Fluency: Tomorrow we will test on our 6’s! Don’t forget to practice. Also, work on the facts you still need to pass off. We will be working on pass facts daily.

Math Homework: Complete the attached worksheet. Lesson 6 Homework You do not have to print both sheets. If you choose to print, print only page 2. The first page is an example on how to work the problem. Also, students should have brought home their notes from class today. It is very important to work on these story problems. The majority of the year end math test will be given in story problem form.

*For some reason I only received the reading minutes for three students last night. I’m almost certain this is incorrect. If your child read last night could you please re-log the minutes. I checked the link and everything should be working so I’m hoping last night was just a fluke.

Multiplication Madness

Hello!

math-multiplication-signBelow is a chart of your students progress towards multiplication fluency. Students are listed by their school id number. This number is listed on their badge and if you email me I can give it to you. I put this up only to keep you informed of their progress and to help you help your child. Unfortunately, we don’t have ALOT of time to practice multiplication facts so please work with your child daily. 🙂  If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Also, if you have a great way to practice facts with your child please comment below. That way parents can help each other!

Once again THANK YOU for being such supportive and great parents!

Mrs. H

*The  green highlighted colors are the test we have taken in class. The orange is the next fact we will test. I will have all students take the current test. I will have a separate time for students to take test on facts they have not passed.

It was a great break and now I am looking forward to all the learning that we will be doing. I know that jumping back into the daily grind can be a bit challenging BUT here we go!!

Homework Tonight!!

Reading: Free Choice reading. Once again this means that you have the choice to read as many minutes as you like. However, our class is getting closer and closer to earning our reading reward party. To attend the reading award party you must personally have read 1,500 minutes.  Tonight I sent home your reading minute totals. Please be sure you read every night.

Word Work: The new spelling groups are posted please find your name, print your sort, and complete Monday’s word work assignment.

Math Fluency: I am super excited that students can log on to Fastt Math at home. Everyone in the class has been assigned multiplication in Fastt Math. What a great way to work on your multiplication facts. (This is not required)

* Tonight your student should have brought home their Christmas Around the World packet and grading rubric, the scores from their last two writing assignments, and their reading minutes total.

* Tomorrow we will be taking our x3 fluency test.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Welcome Back!

Field Trip to the Planetarium

More and more fun pictures. These pictures are from our trip to the Weber State Planetarium in October. The kids learned a lot about the movement of earth and our relationship with the moon. There was lots of smiles and good times. IMG_3133 IMG_3136 IMG_3138 IMG_3139 IMG_3142 IMG_3132

Hour of Code!

The first week of December we had the opportunity to participate in the “Hour of Code” movement. During our hour we were introduced to basic computer coding. It was lots of fun for our whole class and I was amazed at the problem solving skills demonstrated by many of the students. If you would like to learn more about “Hour of Code” click here.
