September 11th-15th

On Friday I sent home a cookie dough fundraiser packet.  Please see the post that I put on the blog on Friday.  This fundraiser supports many different activities at school.  
This week we have a lot planned.  We are now in our third week of the new reading/spelling program.  All of the students in our class will be working with the same spelling pattern which is so nice!!!  This week, we will be testing on the spelling pattern:  final e and inflectional endings: drop final e.   I will post the spelling list  under the homework tab, so you can have it at home if you would like to review with your child. 
For math, we have taken our rounding test and we did amazing.  There are a few that I am going to invite to tutoring next week, so please look for that email.  We are now moving onto addition properties and addition without regrouping. 

Apple Witches:
I am still looking for parent volunteers to help us with this activity!!!  We are starting to collect the pieces of our Apple Witches for Halloween.  Every student needs to bring a medium-sized apple to school by Monday, September 11th.  We are carving our apples on Thursday, September 14th from 2:00-3:00 in our classroom.  I would love as many volunteers that can come and help us on this day.  Also, we will  need:
1/8 teaspoons (at least 10), and apple peelers (at least 8).
If you have any of these items but cannot attend, please send them with your child, and I will make sure that they get back to you.  If your student will be absent this day we will create a witch for them to use when we dress our witches. 

Reading:
Please remember to read every night for at least 20 minutes.

Math:
Prodigy for every night (M-Th)  for 10-15 minutes.  There is a Prodigy link on the right side bar of our blog.
