Sibling lottery

Hello friends!
We are going to be pulling our first sibling lottery tomorrow. Would you please email/post to google classroom the following message so we can ensure the information is getting out to all of our families?

Quest families,

This is a friendly reminder that our Sibling Lottery will be pulled TOMORROW by 12:00 pm.

If you have an incoming sibling of a current student, they must be enrolled in the lottery to be eligible for acceptance. Please follow this LINK, or go to our website under ENROLLMENT to enroll.

When filling out the enrollment application, please verify that you have completed the Sibling Preference section in its entirety in order for your student to be eligible for the sibling lottery. (See snapshot).

You will be notified via email of your child’s acceptance into the school, the next steps in the registration process, and what timeline you will need to follow in order to secure your child’s position at Quest.
Thank you,

01/08-01/12

Families, welcome to another week! Hopefully, your family is enjoying the weekend snow fall! I have told my students they are welcome to wear snow boots and bring a change of shoes in case they don’t want to wear them all day; that way, they will have them for recess and after school as well. We certainly try to avoid wet socks and feet all day!

There will be NO tutoring this week. We will continue to work on summarizing and author’s perspective in ELA this week. In math, we will continue to work on fractions!

Reminder: there is no school on January 15 (Monday) for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and then beginning Tuesday, January 16, we will start middle-of-the-year testing. The students will complete their acadience test (reading) as well as IReady placement assessments. If you have any questions at all, please let me know.

Dates to note:

Have a great week, and stay warm!!

January 1-5

Families, I hope everyone had an amazing holiday season! I just can’t believe we are just about halfway through the school year, and we are already into 2024. I will spend some time with my class discussing setting academic goals for this upcoming year and plans to achieve those goals. I’m looking forward to catching up with them!

Note that Middle of the Year (MOY) acadience testing will start on 16 January. Ensure that your students are reading for 20 minutes each day during the break. They have been working so hard, and I can’t wait to see how much they have improved since the beginning of the year.

We are off school Monday 1 January and will start fresh and ready to go Tuesday! In math we are continuing to work with multiplying fractions. In ELA we will start a new unit (Unit 4) and will be discussing and reading about what people can do to bring about positive change.

Rise testing

Hello Families,

This email is to notify you that we will be participating in RISE benchmark testing in the coming weeks. These tests are formative in nature, meaning they will let me know how your student is comprehending everything we are working on, identify any potential learning gaps, as well as familiarize them with the RISE testing format. They are not as intensive as the end of the year RISE testing. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support,

Ms. Kierejewski

Oct 02 – Oct 6

5th-grade families,

It’s hard to believe we are into October already and Fall break is next week (11-13 October)! Please make sure to send your child prepared for those colder mornings. We are also having Parent-teacher conferences 25-26 October, I will be sending sign-up sheets this week, so please grab a slot that works best for you. I’m thrilled to be able to spend that time talking with you about your amazing student.

In math this week, we are rounding with decimals and ELA we are continuing our unit and answering the question “What do good problem solvers do?”. It’s going to be another great week!

Thank you,

Ms. Kierejewski
