Tower of Books Library Challenge UPDATE!

Below are the new first grade book totals for our Tower of Books Challenge.  Our class was in the lead, but Mrs. Vella’s class just passed us up this week, and, even though we love Mrs. Vella’s class, we need to work hard to regain our lead! 🙂 
 
1st Grade:
Bischoff – 1 book stacked = 5 books read
Dunmeyer – 16 books stacked = 80 books read
Hills/Teichert = 4 books stacked = 20 books read
Nelson – 6 books stacked = 30 books read
Vella = 18 books stacked = 90 books read

If you need a refresher, or if you haven’t participated in the challenge yet and would like to start, here is the info you need:

First Step– Print the challenge form: 1st Grade Tower of Books Challenge
Second Step– Read 5 books from the listed categories
Third Step– Bring the challenge form WITH parent signature to the library (before or after school)
Fourth Step- Assemble the foldable paper book you will receive from the librarian
Fifth Step– Return assembled paper book, receive a PRIZE and begin again :)

1 Alphabet book
1 Story that rhymes
1 Book of poems
1 Fairy tale
1 Magazine article
1 Book from a series you have not read
1 Mystery
1 Holiday
2 “Non-fiction” books on the same topic

*Please remember that all lists must come back with a parent/guardian signature for the student to receive the book template.

K & 1st grade get a book template for every 5 books read
2nd-5th get a book template for every 10 books read
