The Dunmeyer Family, June, 2016

I grew up in Northern Utah and Central California, and, although Utah is definitely home to me, I am a California girl at heart!  I love the California coast’s moderate temperatures and ocean breezes, and I definitely struggle with Utah’s winter weather! Brrrrrr!!  Half of my extended family live in Utah and half live in Central and Southern California.

I grew up heavily involved in the arts: I was in my schools’ and university’s acappella and show choirs, musical theatre productions, and visual arts programs.  I studied ballet for 9 years, spent many years involved in community and professional theatre, and I worked for 5 years as a teacher/trainer for a nation-wide photography company.  I love to integrate the arts into my teaching and help my students to think creatively!

I have three amazing kids: Kalin is 20 years old, loves basketball, and is in his second year at Utah State University; Grace is 12 years old and is an accomplished artist and violinist; and Rose (Rosie) is 9 years old and is a beautiful ballet dancer and singer.  My husband was a Huntsman Award-winning 5th grade teacher for many years and is now an Elementary Principal.  He is my greatest support and mentor.  Our family loves to go boating, 4-wheeling, and traveling together. We have a cat, Zena, who loves mice. 🙂

  1. Dear Ms. Dunmeyer,
I like first grade! It is fun! My friends are Raya, Enoch, London, Ava, and Saddie. Did you know my older sister is in the pirates play? And Austin had you as a teacher and he said hi! My sister is helping me write this.
