At the beginning of September, this reading log was in your child’s folder. Quest has a no homework policy, however reading is not considered homework, it is ESSENTIAL for your child’s success! This is just a fun way for you and your child to keep track of your reading. When your child reads, or when you read to your child you can sign or initial near the apple and your child can color in an apple. At the end of the month, they can bring it back to school for a small surprise!! At the beginning of each new month a new reading log will come home.
Remember, at the front of your child’s folder there will be lots of reading passages your child can read. These are excellent to practice every night. I also provide you with the weeks decodable books on the blog. If you feel like your child needs more let me know. There are also lots of fun chapter book series for first graders that you can get from the library or order online. Here is a blog post that I found that has a lot of good ideas for book series.
