Boy, were students surprised when we followed the scientific method and found out that an ice cube will melt faster in their hand than on a mitten. Most of them hypothesized that it would melt faster in the mitten! I had to laugh when several went back to erase their hypothesis even after telling them good scientists often hypothesize wrong and it’s all part of the process! 🙂I’m still trying to figure out how to take every groups picture AND help everyone that needs help. We might just have to take turns being cute for the camera–and I’ll get faster at getting 1st graders to pose quickly.
