This isn’t goodbye

Thank you for a great year
What an honor to be your children’s teachers this year!  They are so dear to us and we are so proud of their hard work and it’s been so much fun to see how they’ve grown!  Luckily, we know most of them will be just down the hall next year and we will be able to see their adorable faces now and then–so this isn’t really good-bye!

Thank you, parents, for all your amazing support this year: helping your child complete their homework, help on field trips and in the classroom or helping from home.  Thanks for all your donations for parties and classroom supplies!  We can’t thank you enough, and especially for sharing your kiddos with us.  We will miss them, but excited for all the growth and learning that lies ahead!  🙂

With Love,
Mrs. Hills and Mrs. Teichert

Hill Aerospace Museum Field trip

a10_hill_aerospace_museum_croppedTomorrow is the big day for our Hill Aerospace Museum field trip.  Here are a few reminders to help your student have a successful, enjoyable day:

1- RED uniform shirt and uniform pants.
2- Good shoes for walking.
3- Labeled HOME lunch (unless you ordered school lunch), include plastic utensils, paper towel, etc.
(NO microwaves will be available)
4- Arrive on time.  Buses will depart at 9:30am, expected return around 1:20pm.
5- Please have a good filling breakfast! We will be in a fun, engaging presentation 11-11:30am. This is usually lunch time for our students. They will be eating lunch AFTER the presentation.
6- Leave student backpacks home.

Parent Chaperones: Please bring a backpack or bag to carry the lunches of the students in your group.  And a lunch for yourself.  If you are driving, we expect to arrive at the museum shortly before 10am.

Seed Scavenger Hunt

I’ve encouraged the students to go on a “Seed Scavenger Hunt” and bring back their findings in a little baggie by Tuesday, May 21.  They might freely explore their yard or go on a walk and get a close up look of different flowers and plants.  A “Sock Walk” is a fun way to pick up “hitch hiker” seeds: put an old, oversized sock over your shoe and walk around outside, brushing up against plants and see if you collect anything.  If an outdoor scavenger hunt isn’t possible, they could look for different seeds in their kitchen (bird seed, sunflower seeds, nuts, beans, wheat…)  Have fun hunting!
