Reading in Class

• Comprehension Skill: Author’s Purpose
• We will be focusing on the spellings for long o: (o, oa, oe, ow) in our spelling words: told, most, float, coat, toast, grow, mow, show, Joe, toe Review: light, mind, only, our, who
• Our Vocabulary words are: across, borrow, countryside, idea, insists, lonely, solution, village

• Math in Class
• We will be working on word problems for the next couple of weeks. Word problems can be hard for students because it requires comprehension to understand if we are subtracting or adding. Create stories that include adding or subtracting and see if they can come up with the answers.

Reading Homework (optional, but highly encouraged!!) 

*Students are welcome to read their decodables from class. If they read it 3 times with you, please sign it and have them bring it back for class money. *
Please, please, please read with your child. Make it enjoyable and fun. You can even read to them!! 20 minutes a day is a great goal.
