Announcements: Students are finishing up their mid-year testing this week. We will go over the results at parent teacher conferences, which are the first week of February. Sign-ups for parent teacher conference will be posted by this Wednesday, 1/13.
Reading in Class
- The essential question is: “How do you express yourself?“
- Comprehension Skill: Main idea and Key details
- We will be focusing on the spellings for long u: (u_e, ew, ue, u) in our spelling words: cute, cube, fumes, music, unit, menu, few, pew, fuel, cues Review: pony, queen, began, come, give
- Our Vocabulary words are: cheered, concert, instrument, movements, music, rhythm, sounds, and understand
- Math in Class
- We are still learning different strategies to subtract 3-digit numbers with regrouping. We will be testing sometime this week.
Reading Homework (optional, but highly encouraged!!)
*Please ask your child about their stories they can read for a reward. Students are welcome to read their decodables and Friday stories from class. If they read it 3 times with you, please sign it and have them bring it back for class money. *
Please read with your child. Make it enjoyable and fun. You can even read to them!! 20 minutes a day is a great goal.
