We will be leaving at 8:45 Sharp!! We can NOT wait for you. We would like the students to wear red uniform shirts. If you are bringing a lunch from home, please make everything disposable. We will return to the school at approximately at 2:00. We also ask that you do NOT send your student with any money. Students will not be allowed to purchase anything at the zoo.

Star Students: ~ Mar. 10 – Vyom ~Mar. 17 – Tayzer

Reading in Class: We are reading biographies and learning how to summarize them. In phonics we are learning diphthongs oi and _oy. See the paper below.

Math in Class: We will be learning how to measure objects and determine the difference in length by adding or subtracting. Please see the family letter below and consider doing the activity with your child.

Reading Passages (optional, but highly encouraged!!): Stories go home each Friday. Encourage your child to read them to you (3 times), sign it, and send it back with them. They get class money for this!

**Please read with your child. Make it enjoyable and fun. You can even read to them and then ask them questions!! 20 minutes a day is a great goal.  Your child should be bringing home decodables each Friday in their black folders. These stories can be read and returned for class money. If they read them 3 times out loud with you, please sign it and have them bring it back. It is so important to read every day and ask fact finding questions from the story to develop your student’s comprehension; this is key to meeting the end of the year benchmark goals for 2nd grade.
