Your child should be bringing home decodable stories each Friday in their black folders. These stories are great to read again and again. The words will become automatic, so when your child sees them in another text, they won’t have to stop and sound them out. It is so important to read every day and ask fact finding questions from the story to develop your student’s comprehension; this is key to meeting the end of the year benchmark goals for 2nd grade.
