We will be going through a corn maze, sliding down giant slides and riding on a wagon to see the dairy cows. Please dress your child in good walking shoes for this field trip.

We can take a maximum of 8 parents per class (no siblings please!). The first 8 parents, from each class, who pay the office their $4 fee will be those that will be able to go. Please do not pay for parents online! Student donations will be $6 each and can be paid to the office or online. This will include a small pumpkin.

Please click on the link to sign permission for your child to attend. This also gives us the required time to order sack lunches from the school if that is what your child will be eating. They may bring their own sack lunch but please be aware that there will be no microwaves.

Happy field tripping!

Sept. 16-20

We as teachers are always learning how to be the most effective in our teaching and use of your child’s time. We recently learned that    “No research has ever found a benefit to assigning homework (of any kind or in any amount) in elementary school. In fact, there isn’t even a positive correlation between, on the one hand, having younger children do some homework (vs. none), or more (vs. less), and, on the other hand, any measure of achievement.” -Alfie Kohn
Due to these findings, we will continue sending optional math reviews home. They will not be graded or used for data. Simply something for you to see what we are working on in class for that day. We also encourage students to continue reading at home. This is not a homework assignment, but a bonding time between you and your child. Ultimately we want your child to love to read!
If you have questions about this change, feel free to contact us.

Thank you,
Second Grade Team

 QUEST ACADEMY ANNUAL FUNDRAISER:
This year our fundraiser is through a partnership with Denik and Schools Building Schools. We are selling a variety of notebooks, journals, sketchbooks and prints with artwork from artists around the world. If each student sold $100 worth of items, we would reach our goal as a school, as well as bring in enough money to build an entire school in another country!  Thanks for your support and help. Go, Quest Rams!!!

  • Fundraising forms are due Friday, September 13th
  • Cash and checks are accepted. Make Checks payable to Quest Academy

That means each student only needs to sell 10 of the smaller journals. Or, they could focus on selling just FIVE of the art pieces. Thanks for your support and help. Go, Quest Rams!!!
