Gala
If your student is participating at the Gala, please have them wear best dress.  If you are not attending the Gala, the children need to be there at 6:15 and may be picked up at 7:00.  Thank you for helping make this performance possible.

Testing
Yikes!  We begin our End of Level Testing on Tuesday.  Please go to bed early, get lots of sleep and eat a great breakfast before coming to school  on Tuesday and Thursday.

Writing
We have completed Informational and Opinion Writing (We’ll still be revisiting them between now and the end of the year), and will be working of narrative writing.

Play
The play is coming along and we are going to be ready to perform on the 10th.  We will be be performing at 1:45 and again that night at 5:00.  Your child’s costume does not need to be anything elaborate.  All costumes should come to school on Monday May 8th and we will have a dress rehearsal that that day.

HOMEWORK
Reading
There are nightly homework assignments up in Google Classroom.  Don’t forget that you need to read for 20 minutes every night.  That is the most important part of the homework!  There will only be 3 nights of homework, due to the Gala.

Math
Prodigy is set to review everything that we have taught this year.  If you spend 15 minutes every night doing the problems, you will have all concept reviewed by the end of the month.  Those who do not accomplish these at home will be catching up during study hall.

Spelling
This week, we are continuing our study of Latin Root Words.  We will be talking about how the root of the word can help us with spelling as well as definition.  The roots we are looking at are:   vac (empty), dict (say), audi (hear), mand (order), man (hand) and port (carry)
