Coming up this week:
On top of the Halloween festivities, we also have a busy week of learning. In math, we are learning about Perimeter. We’ll start by learning to determine the distance around quadrilaterals, and then composite shapes. In ELA our reading strategy is rereading for information, and the comprehension skill is understanding the author’s point of view.

Homework:
Can anyone guess how much time students should spend reading each night?
You got it- 20 MINUTES EVERY NIGHT!
Prodigy is updated to contain practice in addition and subtraction, with regrouping, as well as continued review of quadrilaterals. The battles contain the practice problems, and students are challenged to complete 50 problems each week.
Also, if you have chosen to participate in Greg Tang’s Math challenge, you have until November 1st to complete the game board. Additionally, if students complete and return the game board with a parent’s signature, they will receive a classroom incentive as well.

We’ve entered such a fun and wonderful part of the school year! We are moving at a fast pace, and we will not be slowing down. Thanks for hanging in there with us, and for all the support you’ve shown.

Have a FUN and SAFE Halloween

Work hard. Be kind.
