Dear Families,
Good news! This month’s Scholastic Reading Club flyers are ready for you to explore with your child. Children read more when they choose their own books, so I encourage you to look at the flyers together. Each flyer is filled with grade-specific, affordable titles and Storia ebooks.
Place your order online at scholastic.com/reading club or return the order form and payment to me. Ordering online is the easiest way to ensure I get your order on time. Also, there are more books to choose from.
Remember, for every book you order, our class earns FREE books and supplies…and we have our eye on some additions.
Thanks for your support!

Halloween Party
Good morning!
Our Halloween Party will be on October 31st from 10:00-11:20. I am looking for a parent(s) who would like to be in charge of the party. This would mean contacting parents who have volunteered to help out, arranging games, food, etc for the party. If you would like to help out at the party, please let me know. We are allowed to have treats at the party; however, they must be store bought. I would need to know what the treats would be asap because I need to send out permission slips before October 23rd. Again, please let me know if you would like to help or be the room mom/dad for this party. I appreciate everything you all do!

Dress code for Field Trip
On our Friday field trip, please have your child wear a blue or white spirit shirt and jeans/shorts/tennis shoes. If they don’t have a spirit shirt they may wear a red or blue shirt. They will need to pay $1 for dress down day (jeans). Please put their lunches in a paper or plastic bag with their name on it. No soda or food that needs to be heated. It should be almost 90 degrees on Friday so they may want to bring a hat.

Field Trip Chaperones
Good morning! I am trying to put together the groups for our Field Trip on Friday. If you are going to be a chaperone, please let me know. I am trying to put the kids in groups before Friday. Also, if you are going please pay $4 to the office BEFORE Friday. If we don’t have the $4 before Friday, then you will have to stand in a long line when you get there and may miss going on the hayride with the class. Thanks for all you do!

Important Visitor
We are learning about plants this month for science! We are going to do a lot of exciting things including having a Bee Keeper come visit our class. He will be visiting us Wednesday September 17. He will be bringing in an observation hive with live honeybees and he will talk about the process of pollinating plants. The bees are completely contained and the students love to see them at work. If you are uncomfortable having your child in the classroom at this time, please let me know and I can arrange something/somewhere they can be for this period of time.
