ABC Countdown for next week

Monday, April 23 is B Day is  Baby Picture Day! Please bring a baby picture with your name on the back of it.  Don’t show it to anyone because we will be playing a game with them (no photo will be damaged).  There will be a prize given to the winner.

Tuesday, April; 23 is C Day-Critter Day.  We will have Scales and Tails come to Quest.

Wednesday, April 24 is D Day-Dancing Day.  We will have some fun dance time in class.

Thursday, April 25 is E. Day.  We will have extra recess this day.

Friday, April 26, is Furry Friend Day.  Bring a small stuffed animal to school.

A to Z Countdown

Beginning Friday, April 20th, 2nd grade will begin their 26 Day Countdown till the end of school.  We will be doing something different each day so make sure to check back here weekly.  On Friday, April 20th we will be doing an art project because A=Art Day!   Next week’s special events will be posted on Friday 🙂

2nd Service Project

Good morning!  The 2nd graders will be doing their final service project next week.  They will be writing letters to airmen at Shetland Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. As part of this project we would like each student to bring in any kind of treats and/or crossword or word search books  We will be making the box and letters on Wednesday April 18th so please  have your goodies here by then.  Thanks so much!

April Stem Challenge

Good morning!  We are beginning our April Stem Challenge and need a few things to be brought in by your child.  1. a smooth, flat, clean rock.  We will  be painting these on Monday, April 16th so please help your child find one.  2.  Also please send in any empty paper towel rolls or empty toilet paper rolls.  We will begin building with these on Thursday, April 19th.  If you have any questions please let me know.

ANIMAL DIORAMAS

Directions

Each student will create a diorama (a scenic representation in which sculpted figures and lifelike details are displayed) showing his/her selected animal in a three dimensional representation of its habitat.  To create the diorama project, a shoe box or other small box may be used as the space for the animal’s home or territory.  Students may use a plastic of vinyl toy for their animal, or mold one from clay.  Materials such as magaUnknown-1zines (for photos), silk or plastic plants, popsicle sticks, toothpick, glue, construction paper, and other craft items may be used.. Creativity is encouraged.  PLEASE ONY HELP YOUR CHILD WHEN NECESSARY.


DioramaRequirements

*A recreation of the appropriate habitat of the animal                               

*A small model of the selected animal
*At least one other animal that would be found in this habitat
*3D pictures or objects to show the plants and the environment

School Carnival is coming soon!!

Save The Date! Quest Academy’s 10th Annual Carnival May 18th 5-8 PM We are in need of several Volunteers for the night of the Carnival. We want to make this a wonderful event for our children. If you are interested in Volunteering at this event please contact Marissa Worley at marissaeworley@gmail.com or 801.389.3731 You can either Volunteer for the whole night, volunteer for 1 hour shifts, or volunteer to help clean up. We really appreciate the families at Quest Academy!
