Student of the Week- none                         Birthdays- 11/30  Stella

It’s always hard to come back from a week off, but the kids are doing great! This week we are working on the long a spellings, introducing verbs, and learning contractions with “not”. We are also working on adding more details in our writing. 

In Math, we are learning about strategies to subtract. A lot of it is review but using numbers to 20.

In reading groups, students need to be reading their leveled book EVERY night and putting it back in their homework pocket. That way we can read it again in guided reading group. Please have them read their book and talk about it with you. Practice with them to read in phrases, using the punctuation, and not choppy word by word. 

Finally, remember that our Nutcracker Field Trip is Monday. The first 4 people who signed up will be our chaperones and contacted in the next few hours. Thank you to the couple moms who are willing to be backup! We’ll let you know if we need you!
