On Tuesday, May 27 we are creating our Solar Ovens to make some S’mores! We are in need of donations of ingredients and materials. If you are willing to bring something, please send your child with them no later than Friday the 23rd so I know what I need to go get! Thank you 🙂

DONATIONS NEEDED:

  • Graham Crackers
  • Marshmallows
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Bars

BFG Project

Here are the requirements:

The item your child chooses must be 4 times the size of a regular human bean item. Examples might include a toothbrush, books, car keys, socks. (Example if the toothbrush is 4 inches long, we times it by 4 and now we have a 16 inch toothbrush.)

The item must be practical. (We need to be able to carry the item to and from school.) Have fun with this as it is something for them to be creative and enjoy!

Students can start bringing in their item when they complete it starting on May 19 but we will present our projects the day we watch the BFG movie and drink “frobscottle” on May 23. This will be a much deserved fun project/party to celebrate all the hard work we have put in for testing! Thank you for your support- let me know if you have questions on this project!

THANK YOU

Thank you so much for the thoughtful gifts, kind notes, and heartfelt appreciation you shared during Teacher Appreciation Week. I truly felt so loved and celebrated, and your generosity and support mean the world to me. Every card, treat, and surprise brightened my days and reminded me how lucky I am to work with such wonderful families. Teaching your children is a joy, and I’m so grateful to partner with you in their growth and learning. Thank you again for making me feel so special!

Teacher Appreciation/End-of-Year Field Trip

TIME FOR REVIEW

We are reaching the end of our 4th grade year! WOW! We have a lot of fun activities planned and hope to be able to get to all of them to celebrate our hard work this year.

I am sending two review packets home every week for the next 3 weeks. Review packets are REQUIRED to be returned within two days. Monday’s packet is due on Wednesday. Wednesday’s packet is due by Friday. We will be reviewing packets on Friday. Packets returned are students’ entry into laser tag. I will be available for students to stay before or after school to finish their review packets during tutoring if they are having trouble doing them at home.

PLEASE HAVE THEM HERE FOR OUR REVIEWING WINDOW. APRIL 14-MAY 3rd. We have end-of-year testing right around the corner.  Your child MUST attend school during the review weeks and testing days. Please let me know if your student will not be attending school on any of the testing days.  WE ARE REVIEWING EVERY DAY!  It is also important that they get a good night’s sleep, a good breakfast, and here ON TIME. All of our tests are first thing in the morning. Our testing window is May 7th – May 16th.

I will let the children chew sugar-free peppermint gum or mints during the RISE test.  Research does show that peppermint helps calm anxiety in students. Please let me know if you do not want your child to have gum during the tests.
